Re: Trouble starting on cold mornings
Try leaving it 5 or ten seconds after the glow plug light goes out before cranking it over. If one or more plugs are weak this will give it a bit more of a boost. If that makes no difference it could be the cold start solenoids. When it does start up from cold is the tickover initially higher than n...

Re: To Radweld or not to Radwled - that is the question...
If I understand it correctly, this stuff works by lining the entire system with a gungey coat of sealant. It may get you home in an emergency but at some point the horrors of having all the plumbing including sixteen or so hoses, the rad & two heater matrixs being clogged up with even more sludg...

Re: Stalling Engine.
Another tip:
Mine had similar symptoms & was a bugger to resolve but ended up being a collapsed vacum pipe that feeds into the cold start solenoids on top of the engine just behind the gearshift. It had literally sucked itself flat. Have a quick look - It could be a 50p fix.

Re: Bongo friendly garages in Yorkshire and the North East
I've used a local garage to me in Mirfield since Christmas. Run by Andi -a bit of a mad bloke from Lithuania - but he knows Bongos, his charges are sensible and if possible he will do a professional repair rather than charge for new parts. Pleasantly surpised when getting mine back from a full servi...

I can't make it either Mike. I'll be in Copenhagen next weekend on a Top secret mission but maybe we can sort out our own Mini Big Bash later in the summer - Tan Hill perhaps . . . ?

Re: Mazda RX-8 18" alloys compatability
I swapped my scabby RXs for a set of new looking chunky 15" ones with SparkySSS last year. BDC did a fine refurb job on them for him but I'm much happier with the ride (& cost of tyre replacement) with what I have now.

Re: Mazda RX-8 18" alloys compatability
Thats the sore point Franco. I used to have RX8s, they look superb on a Bongo but the tyre choices on low profile firm walled options are limited to the expensive end of the scale. The load index needs to be at least 92 for the front & 96 on the rear. My first set of alloys a few years ago were ...

Re: Haydn Coolant Alarm won't stop beeping
In addition to Haydns response . . . .
It happened to me in the summer. By chance we were at the Big Bash at the time & Haydn was there.
All mine needed was a fresh stainless steel screw in the lead from the header tank as the old 'un had become covered in crud.

Has anyone looked at the throttle position sensor yet?
Still sounds a likely culprit. . . .
