Just a thought, after draining would it be worth filling up using hot water? I have done this in the past to help rebuilt engines with initial starting, perhaps it would speed up bleed time a bit.

I have noticed this when going up some steep passes in europe. I put it down to the spongy matting on the plastic undertray being contaminated by oil spills on it and getting hot then smelling.

Update to my little problem. Received the second hand relay, fitted it and everything ok now so looks like my guess was right.........which was nice!

Also decided to fit a low coolant alarm for piece of mind, really good bit of kit, well made and easy to fit, ta Haydn.

Thanks for the suggestion, I have just checked all the 10 amp fuses and they are all ok.

I have found a second hand relay on *bay for £15 so I'll try that and see what happens.
