Re: Camping Card International
There are sites that require some identification either for their records or as security should you leave without paying. On some occasions they are required to do that. Some even ask you to leave your passport. The CCI card is useful there. I have on occasion handed over an outdated card, they neve...

Re: New Year meet near Bath
Well, looks likely we won't be able to come to the party.
I've got a small operation on Dec 22, which is not major, but will certainly mean I won't be able to drive for a few days. It puts booking out of the question.
Shame. Have fun.

Re: France Autoroute Peage Class 2 Charge Avoidance Liber-t
In 4 years, 2 months or so a year, we have never been charged Class 2, even though it's a black with tinted windows, and you can see it's over 2m by the height guide on the kiosk. Incidentally, at the last camp site near le Havre coming back in mid October, the car & caravan next to us had accid...

How did that happen? Can the mod delete one of those postings? Or both, if you're feeling mean!

Re: Recent Bongo Trip through Europe
The Swiss motorways can be avoided, but you will have to choose the route carefully, and the fuel cost could easily make the exercise doubtful. I guess the sat nag can be instructed to avoid motorways. We have the same issue, what we have decided to do is just dip into Switzerland in the north west ...

Out of interest this meet coincides with the Shepton Outdoor Motorhome and Caravan Exhibition (Sept 9-11), so a couple of us are going on to Shepton catch the last day on Sunday.

That's really rough, Richard. Were u still in the north, or were u further south? Campsite unattended?
We are in France shortly, so it would be useful to hear details when you return.
Best wishes, chin up!!

Re: european breakdown cover.
You could try 2gether, you would get a year's European cover for that sort of money. When I needed help in France, I got the RAC control centre, and help arrived in 30mins. They use whoever is nearest for your location at the time of the call. A friend had problems with them, but that was down to th...
