Re: fitting a split charge relay to elite conversion
thanks for all the advice. I've looked everywhere around the frame of the sliding door and no sign of an elite conversions sticker :( still the van runs pretty well so i guess I can just upgrade the rather shoddy workmanship of the conversion over time. medium term I will move the battery but I thin...

Re: fitting a split charge relay to elite conversion
If your Bongo has an Elite Conversion then you will find a disc with their name on it stuck to the inside of the pillar on the sliding door side of your Bongo. Tony by pillar do you mean the 'pillar' of metal/frame which runs from the floor to the ceiling between the sliding door and the passneger ...

Re: fitting a split charge relay to elite conversion

EDIT:- I've got no documentation the vendor told me it was but there was none of the documentation from them. no reason not to believe him though. will still ring eli...

Re: fitting a split charge relay to elite conversion
Hi I dont understand quite whats happened here Iv`e got the Elite conversion with the PMS3 system and that is the whole idea of it. if it has been wired up correctly it should be charging the LB while you are running, mine does . have you consulted Elite about this as I had a few wiring issues with...

fitting a split charge relay to elite conversion
Hi I've got an elite conversion bongo witha pms 3v fitted. been getting to the bottom of why the leisure battery didn't charge and I've discovered the pms 3v has no provision for this by default. I've been reccomended a wilmington relay but they seem rather expensive at £68 There is also one importa...

Re: pms
Yes that sounds feasible. However the pms is con strutted of steel and rivets so no way to get inside that I can see. Anyway way I can verify the fault externally? The signal from the ignition is a separate cable or just the relay picking up in the change in voltage? if the fault is not fixable with...

pms 3v
Hi I've read other posts on this and my problem seems to be slightly different. Symptoms 1) leisure battery doesn't charge when driving. Plugging into 240v does charge it. I've check the voltage on both batteries when engine is running and I get 14ish on car batt but leisure batt does not change whe...

Re: burning smell- not the heating
Hi there, Firstly it is quite hard to spot as the oil, on mine at least, was very slow trickle from one of the seals on the drivers side. It trickled down the engine, to the sump rim, that rim is then angled towards the rear of the car and it drips onto the exhaust. Look under both sides of the car...

Re: burning smell- not the heating
hi there, mine is a 97 and 86000 miles. the previous owner said he had the camblet replaced this year so I'm loathe to do that unles we have too. I guess maybe they have to take it off though to get at the seals? and then maybe they have to fit a new one? thanks for the detailed pics I'll check it o...

Re: burning smell- not the heating
Hi there, What is the smell, is it rubber, coolant or oil? Under the bonnet on the top air scoop, check to see if there is a small metal lever. If so make sure it's set towards the front of the car. This means the heating system uses cold air from the front of the car, rather than warmish air from ...

Re: burning smell- not the heating
are you suggesting I take some oil and heat it myself to compare the smell. not a bad idea.
if it only takes a small amount to generate a smell then presumably I only have a very small leak. as there is enough to smell but not be visible!!
