is a balance that is had between a wet grip A and softer rubber/ lots of water wicking grooves.

It may also just be that it has now been 6 years since I have felt what brand new tyre feels like to drive on ...

Timing belt cover seal

Hi all,

I have a 1997 2.5 v6 petrol engine, I've removed the timing belt covers during other work and the rubber seals in them have seen better days.

Are the seals still available and does anyone know the part number? I've looked in the parts catalogue but can't seem to find them.

Thanks,
Chris.

Re: Top rubber for rear coil spring

If anyone is in need of a fix, I've designed and 3D printed these in a rubber-type filament. Working great so far on my Bongo.

Re: Coolant leak repair help please

HI, common problem, but you don't say which engine, the piping varies a bit between them, however is it a metal pipe or a rubber pipe? Simpler if its a rubber pipe or a seal to a metal pipe that has failed! Best to check the diagrams for the cooling system and/or rear heater from the diagrams ...

So then I replaced HT leads: removing ones I fitted 10 years ago, which are showing recent vermin damage to rubber boots and cable insulation (also some nuts on the cylinder head!). Reconnected to in situ DISTRIBUTOR assuming:

Re. The radiator top mounts, I'll have another look, as it does look like the radiator is sitting too low for the rubber mounts to be doing anything useful; the radiator is free to wiggle forward and back as much as it likes at the moment.

Just noticed one of my ...

Re: AFT Wiring diagram

Yes it sounds like the motors are stalling due to being unable to raise the roof. Often its down to the rubber seal sticking to the roof, the two front corners are likely areas, there should be plastic pads attached to the roof to stop this happening but sometimes they are missing and the rubber then ...

Re: Bongo Cooling System

The preferred method is vacuum filling, provided the rubber pipes are in good condition and won't split when the vacuum is applied and then the coolant added to fill the now empty space with minimal air left in the pipework.
Do bear in mind however that the Friendee/Freda vehicles tend to suffer ...

Re: Bongo and conversion: Will up to 10k get us what we need?

If someone has looked after their Bongo, they will clearly be stating it in the sale. looked after is in my opinion:

Changed all the rubber and metal pipes on the diesel engine, maybe cut the rear heater out of the cooling system.
(and has receipts to prove it all)
Undersealed it within the last 3-4 ...
