MacDonalds wifi in France

I have never used their wifi, and never eat there. But it seems to be the best option when touring and needing to keep in touch.

What is the SP? do you get a different code at each branch, or it there one code for all, if so what is it. Or is it open?

Re: Air Con Econ

I do wonder what the difference between econ mode and standard mode represents in mpg, and also what the effect of using normal a/c is on mpg. A friend suggest about 5mpg, which seems high to me.

Re: Annoying drip

I'll have to check all this in the morning, it does sound like it is the pump leaking.

Mike, doesn't a diesel soaked rag sound like a fire risk?

Annoying drip

But that's enough about me. For nearly a year I've had an annoying drip, which now I've got the undertray off, I cannot trace for sure. I've gunked the engine hoping to see where the problem is, and have only managed to locate the general area. Firstly I've not had to top up the oil in a year, even ...

Re: Ferry Prices

We've used them quite a few times, and Dunkirk is not a problem, especially if you're going to Germany or Switzerland. And even if you are going to south/western France, the mileage difference is not significant. But the motorway south is (or was) the worst motorway surface I've ever driven on. I ho...

Re: Rear wheel arch replacement in Bristol

I had my arches done locally to me, Westbury-sub-Mendip (not on Trym) a couple of years ago, very competently done, paint finish very good. Just visible by petrol flap (the metal popped slightly) but overall very satisfied. You'd be welcome to pop over and see the finish - just pm me.

Re: Battery Chargers

Can't you overcharge? I use the lidl one, which is only 4 amps but does shut off, but my Halfords 8amp has no auto shut-off, and it's easy to forget it's on. I certainly agree about the length of time to charge up As regards Julian's comment, my LB quickly goes flat if Bongo not used for a while, as...

Re: Euro Tunnel in the bongo

Thanks, everyone, for the positive comments and ideas ( e.g. where to kip!) Next problem is the quickest way to Switzerland - economy being the issue, but speed also significant - France and the payage or belgium toll free! No adult route finder on board, so it will be sat nav, too We've got the sa...

Re: Euro Tunnel in the bongo

Just along the Marine Parade, it's easy to find. There are normally a few other vans there, they'll often pull up close to you. The Police drive by during the night, but don't trouble you. We've done that for the last 3 or 4 years. It's usually quiet too. The other place you can park is the last se...

Re: Euro Tunnel in the bongo

We've used them many times too and find them very good, we've turned up a day early and got on OK with no additional cost. Having been hugely stung by DFDS/Norfolk Line for changing a booking by just 24 hours, I much appreciate Eurotunnel's flexibility. Apparently you can also change a booking with ...

Re: engine under tray cover for sound deadening

Mine's off at the moment while I source and fix an oil leak, but because of the leak it is very oily and dirty, it's going to be a fight to get it back on and a dirty one. I tried Gunking the sound deadening side last night, but it didn't work, it's still sodden with dirty oil. Anyone any ideas on h...
