Re: Does this sound like a head gasket problem?

My 1995 2.5TD Auto AFT Bongo dumps coolant out of the overflow pipe on the coolant header tank but only some of the time. I'm pretty sure it is not leaking coolant anywhere else because I am catching the overflow and tipping it back in (coke bottle wedged in behind the leisure battery!) and the lev...

Hi Mike... Fit water injection...when you need a boost, it will give power, and the extra will come from water and methanol....cheaper than diesel....but check with your insurers...Lots of commercial trucks use it!....and the engine runs smooth as a turbine!...and it lowers temperatures! Cheers Hel...

Re: Ongoing Lack of Power Problem 2.5TD (Video Inside)

As NB asks, what year is it? I also concur with SJ about the banjo filter. I never found any crud in mine even under a magnifying glass but it was the cause of fuel starvation I never refitted it after the second loss of power, I doubt this is your problem but it removes 1 possibility.

Re: injector pump seals

I found it difficult when I did the rear one in situ, if you mark the pump position you can loosen the advance and retard bolts to hopefully gain a little more room to work.

Re: Help please leaking diesel pump- not seals.

Interesting information, I did one on Friday at Wheel Quick for one of the lads. I’m not surprised that the pumps are beginning to leak lets face it 17 year old O rings that operate from around 0 to 80c get tired. Got a spare set of injectors? Worth getting them reconditioned too. And don’t tell po...

I use a CPR call blocker... £40 and well worth the money...preloaded with 200 of the usual cold calling suspects plus you can program for no international, 0845 etc... what ever suits... bonus with it is... you can press the call block button and no more calls from that number... I have caller id o...

Do as Helen says, keep your speed down. Your anti roll bar is ineffective, if you need to take evasive action at speed your Bongo will oversteer (try to spin). Forewarned is forearmed.

I also did it from above using a wobble bar, as Simon says, move the dipstick tube. A blob of plasticine in the socket stops the bolt dissapearing.

Its really up to You what You do with your filters, as I was trying to explain I was not in that type of situation, I would have been sacked on the spot and probably prosecuted if I had left them out. I totally agree with you about what happens in industry. I designed and worked to British Standard...

Re: changing engine oil

Key difference with engine oil is that it is recirculated so any filter debris will get caught next time round. You're also not squirting engine oil at up to 15,000 psi through a high precision jet, so filtration is less critical. The fact that it is commonly found to be in need of cleaning tends t...
