Just to add that I've replaced my bongo alternator twice (using second hand parts). The first time I had the flashing glow plug light on the dash as you would expect but the second time there were no symtoms other than the battery not being charged.

I've posted to another similar thread about 'relays' being just an automatic switch, buy a cheapo off ebay brand new for a fiver as long as it has the same amp rating and correct number of pins it'll do exactly the same as the one you're replacing.

I thought that as well, but didn't want to spend out if maybe ecu issue... Trouble finding a garage that can check for faults on ecu and clear them...
