Bored with Butties phase 36

Post by Muzorewa » Fri Sep 03, 2010 3:59 pm

Red-hot beef with cashews, served with noodles – unbelievable and so simple to do. As this is a lunchtime feast and I haven’t got hours to work with, I got the marinade going as soon as I got to work (and before anyone else was around) and also got the cashews sorted. I even did the washing up. So, come lunchtime, I only had to blitz the beef and then the noodles, eazy-peazy lemon-squeezy!

Muz Jr is doing some work ‘experience’ at the moment so I have a willing assistant.

Image
Beef, cashews, spring onions, ginger, garlic, chillies, curry paste, soy sauce and noodles.

Image
Slice the beef into thin strips.

Image
Chop the spring onions, garlic, chillies and ginger.

Image
Toast some sesame seeds in a dry pan....

Image
....then transfer to a mortar....

Image
....and then get an assistant to grind up with a pestle  What do you mean, you don’t carry a mortar & pestle around in your Bongo? :?

Image
Add the ginger, chillies and garlic....

Image
....some red curry paste and some dark soy sauce....

Image
....and mash up to get something like this

Image
Mix the marinade into the beef and bung in the fridge.

Image
Toast some cashews in a dry pan....

Image
....then add the spring onions....

Image
....and set aside until later.

Several hours later....

Image
Fry the beef mixture to within an inch of its life....

Image
....then add the cashew & spring onion mix.

Image
Fry some egg-noodles in a little oil in a wok with some sesame seeds (Oi, I like sesame seeds, as long as they’re not on a McDonald’s bun  )....

Image
....and serve with the beef....

Image
....absolutely amazing

Hi Muz Welcome back. Did you have a nice holiday? Did you bring me back a scottish black pudding?
Totally love the dish, will give it a go for tea tomorrow night. Looks delicious. Trish

Fantastic, I'm just trawling through the photos before I post some on here. Most un-Scottish weather we had

Well we got some from the Isle of Great Cumbrae but we weren't sure it would keep so Hannah ate it

Looks good, but can someone explain why people ruin good food by adding nuts? Nuts are for eating out of little bowls or packets, NOT for putting in great food. [-X [-X [-X

I tried this at home and the old man said it tasted funny.

And then I noticed this:
Mix the marinade into the beef and bung in the fridge.
I used MARMALADE, must get some new glasses.
