Talk about non-Bongo stuff. BUT KEEP IT CLEAN....there are children watching. Smut, filth, and anything offensive will not be tolerated and removed immediately.

Bored with Butties phase 26 (reposted)

This is one I knocked up the other day, when everyone else seemed to have gone home (or to the pub) to watch a rather tedious game of football. A much better plan I thought was to make a nice lunch on a lovely afternoon, which realistically would take too long to do in a standard lunch hour. So, how about doing the Moroccan delight of quails slowly cooked in a tagine

Image
Quails, herbs & spices, tomatoes, chickpeas, onion & dried apricots (could be prunes  )

Image
Take the quails into the gents toilet and wash thoroughly. This may cause a puzzled look from anyone still at work

Image
Ginger, cumin, cinnamon, turmeric, chilli flakes and garlic

Image
Chop half an onion and some parsley & coriander

Image
Set fire to some charcoal in a brazier. The lingerie department at Marks & Spencer is not the place to go for a brazier

Put the quails into the tagine.

Scatter over the onion....

....and herbs & spices. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper.

Cook for a few minutes....

Image
....then mix and add some stock, tomatoes, chickpeas & apricots.

Image
An hour later....

Image
....get ready with the cous cous....

Image
....this is looking good....

Image
....sprinkle with flaked almonds and sesame seeds....

Image
...serve with chopped fresh parsley & coriander leaves, and cous cous.

Now isn’t that better than watching England vs Slovenia?

There’s just one thing – the wish-bones aren’t worth the effort :?
