Hello all,
As the title says, can anyone point me to a wire that becomes live in the cab when you engage reverse?
I want to avoid running a wire all the way from the reversing lights themselves.
I will probably tap into the back of the instrument cluster where power is supplied to the 'R' light (as in the gear indicator light strip) unless anyone knows of a better solution?
Thanks,
Tony

The signal comes from the Gear Selector so is available there see below (top centre of diagram), the wire is a Red with Yellow stripe;

available at the gear selector, or ECU, on the dashboard display (later models) or down in the engine compartment.

On my '02 model, there's a wire in the ISO loom for the stereo which is live when in reverse for switching on the reversing camera.

You can also pick up the same signal at the "box that beeps" in the panel by the driver's right foot. IIRC it's a blue or orange one. Test with a meter to be sure.
