I am fitting an iAlert and low coolant alarm in another Bongo for someone and I can't find a good 12v ignition switched feed.
The van has most internal stuff on a leisure, it has manual heating controls so I can't tap in there. Mine is a willington so I came off the freed up fuses with a 12v switched supply in the fuse box.
I tapped into a feed under the passenger side which powers them both no problem but only shows 8v on the iAlert, and hence it keeps going off, plus when it was there the glow plug light was on, all be in dim?
cheers Jim

I guess Haydn yer man to contact as he sells the ialert... I'd say he would know the best feed to use for the unit

Re: 12V pickup
As that Bongo has had a LB fitted and things moved around it is not possible me to know exactly whats what.....I just test wires with a multi meter untill I get the same reading as across the starter battery.......the ignition switch will have a feed and also some of the wires at the back of the fusebox.......8 volts is no good for either alarm......if you find a unfused feed ..be sure to put a 3amp inline fuse in the pos wire.
Re: 12V pickup
pull the fuse box forward and you'll find 2 thick wires, a blue and a blue with white trace, these are your switched lives, the blue remains powered but the blue/white drops out during cranking.

O.K.....that's fine....I would advise a inline fuse "3amp" if this BLUE wire is used.321Away wrote:pull the fuse box forward and you'll find 2 thick wires, a blue and a blue with white trace, these are your switched lives, the blue remains powered but the blue/white drops out during cranking.

Re: 12V pickup
For mine I used the freed up sides of the fuses from my willington, in fact the very nice man he is to sent me some spare spades to plug in!
This van is very different to mine and I was struggling with a meter to even find a supply to hook into, anyway a long shot that someone may have already found one somewhere I will persevere and find one,
thanks for all your comments
