no start

Post by phatgit » Fri Mar 18, 2011 10:13 pm

used the bongo this morning to get to work, then come home time bongo wont start, called out the AA, and he says theres no live feed to the glowplug relay. So i'm guessing the fusible link has gone, BUT where is it exactly? both of us were trying to find it but no luck, is it possible to replace it with a normal type fuse of suitable rating? :?: :?:

the above lasted until last night,30a fuse had popped  ,then again tonight, popped again  .
so i guess i have a dodgy glowplug,(had 2 changed about 2 weeks ago)so the question is what is the resistance of a glowplug when cold and what is it when hot?. i've got a new fusible link coming from belgium in the next couple of days, but not fitting it until i've sorted this problem [-X

Don't know anything about resistance but you should have changed all four glow plugs at the same time, the two new ones are now putting strain on the two older ones. Don't know if this causing the problem but its a good start i would think.

Problem solved :) there was a short on the main wiring loom(tight turn into the engine bay). ripped loom apart re-made joint and insulated :P :P :P nice feeling when you've found it
