Norma...Constant pressure hose clamps

Post by haydn callow » Mon Jul 19, 2010 7:34 pm

I have located a supply of the above clamps suitable for the Bongo hoses (44/30/28/18mm)
However they come in a min quantity of 100 each size.

This will be a fairly large investment.

However they should solve the Silicon hose weeping problems and will also be good for standard hoses.

I could get a supply in and sell at cost to club members.

Is there any interest in this proposal.

I should have costs in a couple of days.

They also have Norma Springband clamps as factory Mazda....they could be good and as fitted standard to the Bongo...cheaper than the above ones

This was my concern (clips) when i mentioned them at the Bash as people seem to have nightmares with jubilee clips.
The ones you found look much more suitable for the job but as you say to get the range of sizes x100 will be very expensive.

The only problem i can see is people will probably only put them on when they change a hose (unless you sell them in sets) so it could be quite a while before you recoup your money~but good find anyway.

It's only easy when you know the answer!!!!!!!!!!

I will shortly have a small supply of the following sizes.

12-20mm
20-32mm
32-50mm

Available only to Full Forum Members (M'ship No required)

Cost will be £2 hopefully (perhaps a few pence more if the customs are unkind)

Cheapest in u.k. works out at £4 approx each, in boxes of 1000 (min order)

These clamps are the NORMA SS constant pressure hose clamps. (NOT SPRINGBAND CLAMPS)

Hi Haydn,

I would be interested in a number of these clamps.

Maybe 'packs' of them containing a full set or sets for the different hose sizes ?

Cheers

Hi. i would like a set of 8 to fit the 4 silicone hoses i fitted last year as i have had to leave the belly pan off so as to get at the hoses to nip them up.
just had an idea  why not market a kit.low coolant alarm- 4 hoses -8 clips and a Mazda thermostat, along with the bleeding video

Because different people will have different hoses that need replacing

Haydn,
I guess you would know, but are the bongo hoses 44/30/28/18mm? I have silicone replacements for the 4 big hoses, but haven't installed 3 of them. The internal diameter of these appears to be around 34 or 35 mm. They came from Flippa. The one silicone hose that I did install (to replace a swollen one) seeped in the winter, and was a bit of a pig to get leak-free initially when I installed it. I think that your plan to get the Norma clamps is a good one -- maybe I'll even install my remaining silicone hoses...

It's no good going off the internal diameter when the hose clip goes on the outside  Sizes were as measured on my system before the silicon hoses were remove to be binned.

When I looked at getting better clamps, the Norma ones sold in the UK used the internal diameter for ordering -- but I never ordered any in the end.

Here's a place that sells worm-drive Norma clamps using the internal diameter:

those are NOT constant pressure clamps......for the 4 x big hoses you need the 32-50mm clamp. These clamps expand/contract according to the temp reached, should be weep free even with silicon

The best ones from the Viper silicone hose site appear to be the Mikalor clamps:
