EGR pipe

Post by Rummager » Sun Mar 08, 2009 9:20 pm

Hello all, I noticed today that one of the bolts which hold the EGR pipe to the manifold end(not the turbo end) is just spinning.Has anyone else had this problem or know how to fix it? I was hoping to blank it off. Many thanks

One of mine is the same - all I did was make some packing out of a strip of aluminium can, pushed that into the hole so that it wrapped around inside it and then screwed the bolt into that to cut a new thread.

It works as long as you don't try re-tightening the bolt too much.

Just make sure it's an aluminium can as it's an aluminium manifold and it moulds better.

Shouldn't be a problem to go on and fit the blanking plates anyhow. Allan's did ours and it's definitely a good mod.
