Central locking fault
Hello everyone, I have had a problem, for some time ,with the central locking. When used with the remote the drivers door would lock but sometimes the other doors would lock and sometimes they would not. When it failed I would open the door and move the locking knob up and down a few times and all would work again for a few days. I assumed from this that the mechanism in the drivers door was sticking, so I stripped the door down and checked the mechanism, all OK.
I then checked the wiring with a multimeter, no power! Remembering several posts regarding broken wires in the loom at the door hinge, I checked and sure enough found a broken wire.
I now know that when I thought I was freeing the mechanism by moving it up and down, I was in fact reconnecting the wire by opening the door. The moral of the tail is: if your central locking does not work, always check the wirng loom at the door hinge before you waste time removing the door panel
Re: Central locking fault
Yes, I had the same thing. I ended up bridging all the wires in the driver's door loom and suddenly the central locking, mirror fold and door speaker started working

Re: Central locking fault
Failing a loom fault, check the leisure battery voltage (if fitted)

Eventually got round to fixing fault. It was of course a broken wire in the loom at the hinge.( yellow/red i think) Someone has already repaired most of them in there, Not very well though so will keep an eye on things.
