A friend's Bongo alternator failed last week and he commented that the sediment light came on. I would test the alternator.

Velocette is right, it is the fault code for a failing/failed alternator...
A similar thing happened on one of the Bongos in our group on a jaunt to Poland a couple of years back...

thanks, will a garage be able to test alternator and batteries, and will lights go out when alternator is changed?

Yes they should... With the engine running the battery should get a charge from the alternator of between 13.8 & 14.5 volts, when tested with a meter gauge across the positive & negative battery terminals.. A healthy fully charged battery when tested should be about 12.5v with the engine off..jayjay71 wrote:thanks, will a garage be able to test alternator and batteries, and will lights go out when alternator is changed?
An alternator replacement is not really a big job time wise..?!! (Someone put me straight if i'm wrong..?)
You will have no more trouble with the warning lights when sorted...!
