V6 dizzy cap ..

Post by mikeWalsall » Sun Sep 22, 2013 2:38 pm

A few tips from when I did mine ..

Use a felt tip pen (or similar) to mark up the firing order on both left and right hand banks ..

The dizzy cap and the new plug leads are also marked with the relevant numbers ..

The dizzy cap can be 'got at' through the drivers side engine hatch .. the new dizzy cap is supplied with three new 7mm bolts .. but it is wise to put some rag underneath just in case one falls out then, it is easier to retrieve with a telescopic magnet gadget ...

The Rotor is held on with two (none supplied) Phillips screws ..

The tip of the rotor as a 'strange' rough / sandpaper finish .. but if new components are not available if needs must I think that with care, it and the pick ups in the dizzy cap, could be cleaned up with a very fine wire brush in a Dremmel..
