Heater control removal

Post by JonWM » Fri Nov 13, 2009 9:31 am

Hi,
Advice from another thread I started, wrt fan resistor, suggests I ought to consider replacing the heater controls on the front dash.
I have now bought a new (used) control panel and need to swap it out - or rather just get access to the panel so that i can swap the rotary fan control switch.
The new one I bought seems to be one that is held in with spring clips suggesting that the old one will be too.
So - how do I get the old one out?
Is there a tool or just a technique?

I have just swapped the heater controls and radio around on my Bongo. I understand that you can't do this on the rotary control version, since the control cables won't reach, however I found access as greatly improved if you first remove the glovebox (pops out) and then the radio /tray to the left of the heater controls. You can then get your left arm in behind the heater controls, and see what's going on through the radio hole(s).
