Auto close sliding door

Post by Habiba » Tue Sep 17, 2013 9:06 pm

I've just acquired a 1996 Bongo and think it might have an auto close door that has failed.
When closed manually it emits a whirring motor noise once closed. It also seems to suck the door closed if not firmly shut. I believe that the door should auto close after reaching the halfway point.
Anyone else had the same experience and if so, how can it be fixed?

The auto close will only pull the door in from the point where it engages onto the latch, so the last few mm or so of travel. What you have is normal.

Thanks for the fast responses. Glad there's no fault there. The manual's wording was confusing me by saying the device will close the door when it is shut 'halfway through'....!?
