Starter Battery size
I'm looking for a new starter battery at the moment and having used the search facility on here have decided on a 100 ah.Looking round several of the suppliers websites,I've found that if you do either the registration search or make and model searches they're mainly recommending a 70ah or in one case even a 60ah.Think I'd rather trust the collective wisdom on here though.

Yep, that's the best one to get & it will suit petrol or diesel. Euro Car Parts offen do deals & you can sometimes get it for about £75.

Re: Starter Battery size
Hi folks.
I just replaced my starter battery with a Bosch S4 335; it works a treat!
When I removed the old battery, I found that the starter battery tray was highly corroded.
I wonder if anyone knows where to source a new starter battery tray, either in metal, or in fibreglass like the Willinton one for the leisure battery?
Alternatively, will a battery tray from another vehicle fit the Bongo?
Cheers from Leon

A welder could likely pop in a patch for you.

Re: Starter Battery size
What size are Bongo battery terminals: European Terminal size (19.5mm) or Japanese International Standard (14.7mm)?
btw the OP's Tayna price looks excellent. Have had well priced excellent service from http://www.advancedbatterysupplies.co.uk but price not matching Tayna.
Edit: Tayna add on delivery which brings the prices closer

The std size is 17.5 Neg and 19.5 Pos,it is always best to measure what is on the vehicle.

Just to mention again,if you use the search facility on the website above, the battery for a Bongo is shown as only a 70 ah with a lot less CCA.

Re: Starter Battery size
I wouldn't take too much notice of compatibility charts on websites or in stores when it comes to parts for the Bongo. The Bosch S4 335 is a well proven replacement which is superior to the original specification and if you can wait for the promo codes come round, you can pick it up for a good price.
Amp Hours: (Ah): 95Ah
Cold Cranking Amp: (CCA): 830cca
Length: 306mm
Width: 175mm
Height: 225mm
£86.99 inc delivery: http://www.carparts4less.co.uk/cp4l/c/M ... c7c&000020
Add it to your basket and then leave it for a few days. They'll then email you a promo code to encourage you to complete the purchase. Don't recall what the amount is, but it's around 7.5%.
EDIT: use SAVEME75 at the checkout and it brings it down to £80.47

Och Simon -- wish I had known earlier!
I spent £102 including VAT at Euro Car parts, after discount!
Ah well: we should be thankful for what we have, yes?

Indeed, life's to short to spend looking back over your shoulder. Swap Tesco for Aldi just once and you'll make up the difference and then somellitvack wrote:Och Simon -- wish I had known earlier!

Re: Starter Battery size
CarPart4Less is basically EuroCarParts but without the need to use promo codes. You frequently get ECP stickers on the CP4L parts as it seems to come from same warehouse.
I've used both companies and they have both cocked up and supplied wrong parts. ECP have always been very helpful while I had a massive battle with CP4L when they supplied a 'pair' of springs which were clearly not the same. Despite it being 100% their fault (correct box, but wrong contents), they refused to send out replacement until I'd returned the other one. Their customer service was dreadful, but as long as you are not in hurry so have time to sort out any problems in case they occur, then they do offer very good value.
