Front Heater Hoses
Can anybody help with which way round the front heater hoses go?
Looking at the diagrams it seems to show the bottom of the front heater matrix goes to the passenger side t piece and the top of the heater matrix has the longer hose going to the drivers side metal pipe.
But I have seen a few pictures where it is the other way round? And my shorter hose seems a bit to long to fit in the bottom of the heater matrix?
Or does it even matter which way round they go?
Thanks!

Re: Front Heater Hoses
Welcome, which diagrams are you referring too ?
There is only one heater matrix in the front so confused by the mention of a drivers side heater matrix, maybe you mean the rear heater matrix?

Re: Front Heater Hoses
I currently fitted them the sane way round as the diagram.
But a few other pictures I have seen people have them the other way around.

Re: Front Heater Hoses
That's the cooling matrix for the air conditioning connections diagram
The heater matrix connections are on the passenger side, they go thru the firewall into the top of the passenger footwell where a plastic plate covers the connection to the matrix itself. See the images of replacing the heater matrix here http://www.g8dhe.net/bongo_images/Paul_ ... placement/
If your really talking about the cooling matrix then it probably doesn't matter as much as at that point the refrigerant is a gas and not a liquid hence direction of flow thru the cooling matrix is a lot less important.
In air con systems you first cool the air, this then causes the moisture content to condense so you now have dry air, then it is warmed to the required temperature inside the mixing box which is inside the cab area in the centre behind the cooling matrix, air is diverted via the heating matrix if it needs to be warmed up then back and out of the vents around the cabin. the heating matrix is shown 61-A10 below;

I think you might be a bit confused?
That diagram shows the flow and return for the front heater matrix. This hoses are the coolant hoses for the front heater matrix.

Or am I confused?
But I’m pretty sure those are the coolant hoses in the diagram for the heater matrix.
Showing the left one going to the top. And right one going to the bottom of the heater matrix. Is that the correct way round?

Yes I may be confused I thought you were showing this diagram https://www.lushprojects.com/bongoparts ... 1of02.html
where the pipes for the cooling matrix enter the unit under the bonnet.
The diagram your referring to is the rear heater diagram with its connections into the overall system on this page https://www.lushprojects.com/bongoparts ... mgno=.html

Re: Front Heater Hoses
No. It’s this one.
I am still none the wiser on which way round they should be!
Drivers side/ longer hose to the top of heater matrix or other way round

Re: Front Heater Hoses
All the part diagrams over the various years show that the top connection goes of to the offside/drivers side;
https://www.lushprojects.com/bongopartsmk2/ look under rear heater section of the "Body and Interior" diagrams.

Yeah that’s the diagram I posted. And that’s what I took from it. The replacement hose I got seems a bit too long though for that orientation.
And lots of people seem to have it the other way round! I’m not entirely sure if it even matters which way they go. . .

Re: Front Heater Hoses
Just checked on mine difficult to get a photo without removing all the air pipe work, but mine is the opposite to the diagrams the lower one goes off to the offside/drivers side and the top one is to the nearside, but only just visible in the photo!
Re: Front Heater Hoses
Ha ha ,the blind leading the blind , it does not matter what way the hoses enter the matrix its just a straight flow and return.
