Well Bob what a cracking job youve made of that, really neat and tidy, a real professional job, I can see 'Bobs Webasto Workshop' at Stourport next year.

All you need is a good pair of scissors courtesy of JDS P.S. Dave your'e not getting them back!!
Alison, the heater outlet does have a swivelly head, it came with the kit (one fixed for the hot air intake and one swivelly for the outlet). Also choice of two for the right angle or a straight for the inlet.

Hope you haven't put the tools away? I'll be down on saturday for my fitting
Just make sure you get that extension hose (not the exhaust ) ready to pipe into mine for next time we do this

The Eberspacher heaters recommend that the inlet and exhaust pipes are the same length for best effect.dave_aber wrote:I think the exhaust I got was about 3m long. Took an while to find a decent length of it at a reasonable price. I didn't fit a silencer though.

Hmm. I hadn't read that about the webastos - but they are broadly very similar. I have an inlet pipe fitted now, but it just drops down to the fresh air under the van. I was getting overheat fault & lockout with no inlet pipe fitted, especially if the engine was still hot.

Re: Webasto Diesel Heater
Reference longer exhaust pipe Alison, I have one on order, will p.m you with the details.
Re: Webasto Diesel Heater
a guy down my way that fits eberspachers says you can shorten the 1m length supplied with their kits as thatsdandywarhol wrote:

the maximum length they recommend.although if you want to lengthen the exhaust then it should be sized up i.e.
22mm pipe into 28mm.
hardly heard a noise coming out your exhaust up in glencoe davedave_aber wrote: I didn't fit a silencer though.
those webastos must be quieter than ebers.
either that or the crackling of the fire drowned it out
all the same but different

Re: Webasto Diesel Heater
the maximum exhaust length is i believe due to the exhaust gasses being blown out by a second internal fan, not the one that keeps you warm
the fan can only push the air over a certain distance due to resistance etc, hence the heater would probably overheat or work to a lesser affect and shorten the life of internal gubbins.
added-
just looked on installation instructions exhaust and intake combustion pipes 2mtrs Max, kit comes with 1mtr as standard, you can shorten aswell but only by 20cm
