Broken heater radiator pipe.

Post by al & chris » Mon Feb 07, 2011 3:13 pm

Stopped at petrol station today then on setting off low coolant alarm came on. On inspection water leaking out from from somewhere under air filter housing. Drove round to my local bongo garage which was only a few hundred meters away. There are two pipes which go into heater radiator and one of them had broken. Thought at first the hose had blown off but the plastic over which the hose fits has sheared. There was enough of a stub left to reconnect the hose but think i will get a new heater radiator. Anyone know where i can get one and has this happened to anyone else.

yes its a common issue.
new/second hand parts are available from the usuall guys, but are expensive, some just bypass the rear heater until one can be found/fitted.
please make sure its bled up correctly.
