the short answer is no, as the matrix is mounted with the inlet/outlet facing down,so the air in theory can get trapped in the matrix itself.
however, most bongos have bleed nipples along the rear metal pipes, look for a nipple shaped rubber cap about 10-15 mm high with a clip around its base.

someone far cleverer than i may post a link to lush projects as i cannot. sorry.

why do you ask ?

i used to use the pipes to rear matrix to bleed the system, due to the 1 way flow of the system, you almost never get air trapped in the rear matrix, with car running put ur hand on inlet and outlet pipes and you'll be able to tell if you have flow or not as both pipes should be warm, if not then the matrix itself might be blocked preventing any flow at all, in which case dive under the drivers side and disconnect the hoses 1 at a time.

what was the old coolant like----------.as any solids in the system usually fall to the lowest point in the system(the rear heater),did you remove the rear heater pipes and flush out the matrix to make sure it was clear. or it may just be air.
