Bongo Spotters Cards

Here's a chance to earn yourself some pocket money by recruiting new members to the club. This is how it works.

If you are walking down the street and you see a Bongo, and there is no evidence that the owner is a member, place one of these cards under its wiper blades.

On the reverse, you fill in your membership number. The prospective member needs to quote this number when they contact Bongo Towers. The new member gets £5 off their membership. And once the new member has signed up, the spotter gets a £5 credit note that they can redeem against their membership renewal or items from the "Parts & Stuff" page. There is no limit to the number of awards you can accrue.

You can obtain your cards in 1 of 2 ways. You can either send £2.50 via Paypal or Nochex to ian@bongofury.co.uk together with your membership number and we will put 10 cards in the post for you (you can also pay by cheque if you want, or phone with your card details).

Or alternatively you can create your own cards by downloading the file here and buying your own card and printing them out. (Requires Microsoft Word. Right click on the link a "save target as...."). If taking this route, you need to buy a pack of business cards 5 x 2 A4 size.

Databases

Bongo Friendly Garages

Originally (from November 2003 to 1 September 2008) we asked members to make recommendations for our list of Bongo Friendly garages, and we simply added them to a fact sheet. However, we have concluded a survey of these garages and now received more detailed information about these businesses. This can be downloaded as a .csv file.

This is how to download the file (it should work in all spreadsheet applications)

1) Right click on this link GARAGES

2) Use the "Save Target" function and save it to your hard drive with a name of your choice

3) Then go to your sspreadsheet software (or file manager) and open the renamed file.

If you have a recommendation to make, please email us, and we will send the garage a questionnaire.

The old factsheet (which will no loger be updated) is still available as a .pdf file here.

Tyre Sizes

Thinking of changing your tyre sizes, to 18 inch for instance. Then be aware that this may affect your speedo calibration. Refer to this handy tool for more information: http://www.kouki.co.uk/Utilities/tyresizer.asp

MPG

Not a database as such, but a very useful Bongo performance tool can be found here. Just input the distance covered and the amount of fuel used and it will calculate your fuel efficiency. Thanks to "Grumpo" for supplying this. (By the way, he's also written this handy "Anniversary Tool" which can also be used as a contact list).

Paint Colours

Want to retouch the paintwork on your van following a mishap with a concrete post in the Tesco car park? Member Mark Thomas thought it would be a good idea to build up a database of colours. The colour coding can be found inside the passenger door on the bar coded label, shown as Exterior Colour. You can find the database here (pdf file). Please e-mail me with any additions. You might also find the following site useful:

http://www.auto-paint.co.uk

Compatible Parts

We have a Parts database available for download. This lists compatible parts; it does not list Mazda original parts. If you source a part that is not on the database, let me know, and I will add it. The database is in CSV format, so just about any spreadsheet software will open it, and can be downloaded here. There is also a pdf version here.

Members

Under Data Protection legislation, I can not reproduce in full the members database. However, I can supply membership numbers, names and geographical location so that you can see who is in your area. Go here to see a full members list in csv format, or here for pdf format (excludes those whose membership has lapsed).
