Roof Rack System

The full roof rack system consists of 2 camium plated steel side-bars that run the length of the vehicle, and 2 detachable aluminium cross members. The cross members are fully adjustable and can be moved to accomodate a variety of roof box sizes.

The steel side bars are plastic coated. The bars are fixed to the pre-drilled holes in the free top. All fixtures and fittings provided. We recommend that if leaving the bars on permanently, you should fix the very rear of the bars to the roof with a polyurethane adhesive such as Adflex or Tigerseal. The bars will accomodate our own cross-members (see below) or you can get them fitted in places like Halfords.

You should also note that you should not place an over-size roof box on the rack. A box should be situated as far back as possible, and you should not be placed forward of the sunroof. This is to stop the box "lifting" which can occur in windy conditions.

Please note: occasionally it may be necessary to enlarge the bolt holes on the bars by 3mm as there are minor differences between the "free-tops" on some models. This can be done witha drill or a metal file and should not take more than 2 or 3 minutes.

The cross members are made from aluminium, and can be moved up and down the vehicle to take a variety of roof box sizes.

You can purchase the bars as seperate pairs (side bars or cross members) or as a complete roof rack system
