Scam
Here's how it works. Shortly after advertising your vehicle online, you receive a badly worded email from abroad. Sometimes France, sometimes Spain, sometimes Sweden. Here is an example.
i am interested
in your advertised carbeen posted on the ad.i will like like to know the
below datails before i can proceed.
1,last offering price
2,present condition
3,pitures if available
hoping to read from youas soon aspossible regards james
What you should do is delete the email at this point, but if you don't, and send "James" the information he requires, you will receive something similar to the following:
hello , For
the payment arrangment,a client of mine who is owing me in UK will be paying
you on my behalf by Cheque and because i have a goods in UK that
they will ship for me.
A client of mine will send you the amount he owned me which is £6000
by a certified cheque drawn in UK bank.
And as soon as you receive the cheque and clear from the bank, you will
deduct the cost of the car and is to £4,800 , and the remaining
balance will be send to the Shipper for the pick up from your location.
If this is okay by you, do e-mail me the following detail
FULL NAME ................
ADDRESS ......................

for the cheque to be made out to you. Hope to read from you soonest.
I will compensate you with £50 for you to remove the advert from
the site thanks james
And if you are foolish enough to proceed further, you will be left £1.200, plus 1 x Bongo, out of pocket!
