Re: Bongo camp bed for a 1 yr old - any recommendations?
Our Bongo is a full side conversion so most of the space in the rear is taken up when the bed is laid out. We're ideally looking for something we can put in the cab, but the NSA Standard Travel Cot looks likes a great buy whatever. Lancy - be intrigued to find out how you get on with the hammock! Al...

Bongo camp bed for a 1 yr old - any recommendations?
We're recent(ish - six months) proud parents and are talking about heading abroad in the Bongo in 2015 (after a few practice runs closer to home) when darling offspring is a little older. Has anyone got any sleeping recommendations? I have seen a cockpit 'hammock' which looks good and know Montague ...

Rear air shock supports on 2WD conversion - recommendations?
Hi all, We're getting some work done on the van soon and want to firm up the rear a little as it tends to bottom out quite a bit. It is a full conversion and we do load it up with bikes and kit when going away, so I'm not surprised if the shocks are having to work hard to be perfectly honest. The ge...

Annoying knock, getting worse
We've had this knock for about two months now, initially thinking it was something rolling about in one of the cupboards in the rear. However, the knock has got worse and a quick unloading and N-sit-in-back-while-H-drives session has discounted this theory. The knock is coming from the offside, unde...

Re: MOT fail advice...
Thanks for all replies and the photo rhino-wayne - really helpful to see what it actually is they are talking about! You are quite right - I checked the refusal slip and it lists nearside and offside locking devices separately (not front and rear!) my mistake. The other thing it failed on was a spli...

MOT fail advice...
Hello, had Bongo MOT'd today - it failed because it is missing the split pin locking devices from front and back track rod ends. Bongo very recently had a standard service done (at a different garage) which included removing wheels - should they have spotted the missing split pins? Not sure if I sho...

Re: Hook up cable for use in Europe
Thanks for all replies - good tip about the DLR - had not considered that. Will make a note in our 'book of things to remember'! Seventiesboy - we are going by ferry from Dover to Dunkirk, then driving to Voseges for a few nights, then on to Kitzbuhel. From there we drive to Maribor, and then onward...

Hook up cable for use in Europe
Hello, We are taking our bongo to Europe this Summer (France, Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Italy) and I am not sure what type of hook up cable we need! When we bought our Bongo it came with an unused 10m orange cable with blue connectors, labelled: 'Site to caravan mains connection lead ' - this is t...

Tell me about... 12v fans!
We're taking our Bongo adventuring through Europe for a few weeks, and having lived on the Med I'm want to take a fan with us (keep the night temps down and the mossies away). We'll be doing some wild camping, so with that in mind does anyone have any suggestions for a decent 12v fan? My thinking is...

Re: european breakdown cover.
Hunting round for cover for our trip (3 weeks) this summer. Unfortunately we fall foul of the 15yr old rule - ours will shortly be a fully fledged adult at 18.
On which note, has anyone heard of or used 2Gether Breakdown? They're quoting £102 for a single trip.

Running a fridge off the leisure - how long will it last?
Still very new to Bongoing and tentatively dipping toes in various ponds. Today's pond is electrics while camping. The whole regular battery / leisure battery is still new to me, so this should be a pretty simple question for the more experienced Bongonaut; how long can I expect to run a f...
