valve clearance top dead centre

I want to adjust my valve clearance (2.5 TD engine) but not sure how to get the cylinders to TDC ? I've previous experience of petrol engines which was simply a case of removing the plugs , transmission in neutral and rotate each cylinder in turn using a socket on the end of the crankshaft. The 2.5 ...

Re: Drumroamin farm campsite Wigtown.

Nice quiet wee place , been there at a star party last spring. Its got great views across to the Galloways hills, some nice runs though the forrest park or down along the wigtonshire coast. The site has plenty of hook up points and a smashing common room if its wet too, well worth avisit.

Re: Any Scottish meets ?

Hi Margaret, I was wondering the same myself!! Typically, someone decides a venue, starts a thread, polls for a few dates and then sets the date. Whoever wants to come will come - it's not easy to arrange by concensus. Unless you're keen to propose yourself, something should come along soon, for su...

Re: can anyone on you techies identify this annoying squeak

Pulley wheel was replaced from underneath... In fairness I got Bellhill to do it...! Like I said earlier, the wheel is in two parts held in place by a single bolt... The piece that drives the two belts for the water pump & alternator is kind of bonded with a rubber compound to the main p...

Re: can anyone on you techies identify this annoying squeak

Just have a look at the pulley wheel that drives the 3 belts when the belts are off or loosened...? Have you had a burning smell of rubber when you have stopped, either emanating from the drivers side front wing or drifting in through the cab vents...?  I just sorted this problem with...

Re: can anyone on you techies identify this annoying squeak

Hi, check the idle pulley wheel on the engine where the 3 belts go over...? The pulley wheel where the grooves for just the 2 alternator belts go is a bonded disco/cylinder to the main wheel before the AC belt..? If this bonding has gone it will make a similar noise to the second link posted with t...

Re: Easycamp Daytona Awning - my review...

Nice review Chris. Ive used this simple we awning all summer from loch lomond to Cornwall. It light enough not to be a burden and easily assembled and packed away. Ive got myself a dozen rock pegs as most campsites tend to have hard core beneath the grass and these thing will go into anything. The o...
