Rothiemurcus / Aviemore

Thinking of going here with my kids but camper van passes are sold out:

Does anyone know of any good wild camping spots close by? (Within kiddie walking distance preferably?

Many thanks

Re: Improving standard cabin bed comfort - self inflating ai

Yeah guessing it would need to be unrolled when up top just prior to light out....

Maybe too much of a faff?

Any easy/cheap top up alternative ideas welcome :)

Improving standard cabin bed comfort - self inflating airbed

Realise there are plenty of old threads on this but wondered if anyone has tried a self inflating mattress up top. I don't find the standard foam mattress too comfy so was thinking of trying something like this to top it up: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Double-Self-Inflate-Camping-Mat/dp/B00C0VTS4G/ref=s...

Re: Leisure Battery

I never use my fridge unless I'm hooked up as worried it would drain the main battery. Are the leisure battery and main battery totally separate systems? And dose running the bongo charge up both? How long roughly could I run the fridge for without flattening the battery?

Too many questions haha

Re: West and North Coast of Scotland

Thought I'd resurrect this as planning our next venture from Aberdeen this summer. Any good suggestions for places from there with kids where we can try out 1) some organised kid (8&9 y.o.) friendly outdoor activities (a mate suggested Loch Tay), and b) any other suggestions for great remote sit...

Overheating and losing coolant

My old thread on this titled “Overheating Issues” is locked, hence new thread. I bought my bongo last spring and completed about 1,000 successful miles. Then in September my coolant level dropped, overheated and popped the lid off the coolant tank. It has been in and out of the garage several times ...

Re: Lecht visit

If it takes you longer than you thought it would to get there, because of the snow, then you'd be entitled to pull over in any suitable layby and sleep it out until the following day. Who needs heaters...! Just take a couple of duvets and a thermos of hot chocolate. Got Winter tyres on? N...

Lecht visit

I am tihnking of heading up to the Lecht tonight with the kids. Can anyone recommend the best place to stay ? It will be our first winter overnight so I am thinking an electric hook up is essential for our oil filled heater. I am a wee bit worried if I will get to the ski centre okay in the bongo, i...

Re: Overheating issues

You need a garage that understands how a Bongo cooling works and is refilled/bled. Sounds like they have not refilled it properly. Well the fudge managed to get me to legoland and back, over 1,000 miles, now to sort the problem properly. Can anyone recommend a garage in Aberdeen that could do this ...

Re: Overheating issues

Sorry for delay in responding to the responses ! i will respond to the questions soon. It was in the garage for a week or so and the garage said it was fixed. I though they had bled the system but noticed the temperature gauge was not moving from cold so called then and they have removed the thermos...

Overheating issues

So on a recent trip my coolant level dropped, overheated and popped the lid off the coolant tank. No sign of white stuff in the oil. The garage checked the stat, pump and still had a huge difference in temperate at the in and outlets apparently. They replaced the radiator and said that had fixed the...

Re: windows not working...what fuse do I need?

I never new the AA would come out for a stuck window .. !! My passengers window as recently 'stuck up' I have wiggled the wires and sprayed some switch cleaner in the switch .. both with no joy .. So it looks like a meter and the soldering gun job to suss out the lack of continuity and (hopefully) ...
