Thanks Geoff -- yes, it failed again, and it's starting to get pretty stuffy in there!
Will try Harris. Thanks

Fixing air conditioning in Sussex
Hi folks, Does anyone know someone in the Brighton area (ideally) or more broadly in the Sussex area who can fix bust AC? We recently had it re-gassed, and the chap who fixed it said if it fails again it might be related to one of the main air switches (I'm an idiot: I forget exactly which switch he...

Smell and residue under passenger side block
Hi Bongo experts, I'm hoping you can help me diagnose a possible problem (that the garage didn't pick up on a few weeks back). Driving the Bongo, there is a strong smell that my other half described as "meaty". This has coincided with the orange ABS light coming on intermittently, and for ...

Re: On holiday: bongo dripping oil
Thanks all for the excellent advice. We called out garage and asked them to look into the gasket as soon as we return. Checking the dipstick in the morning, it had barely gone down at all. I assume (and hope) that the problem looked worse than it is because the sheer volume of rain was bringing more...

Re: On holiday: bongo dripping oil
Thanks for the advice!
I don't suppose anyone has experience of using Bar's Leaks for oil or power steering fluid? Seems to suggest it's a viable temporary measure, but unsure whether it's the healthiest stuff to put into a Bongo?
Cheers!

Thanks for the reply!
Sorry, forgot to say - it's a V6 petrol. We recently had the rocker tightened and the seals replaced.
We're almost 300 miles from home, sadly!

On holiday: bongo dripping oil
Hello all, So, we're currently on our holiday in sunny post-hurricane Wales, happily unpacking our Bongo to move to another chalet after the first was infested with flies... ...when I notice oil patches behind the Bongo. Took a look underneath and sure enough - there are actual drips of oil coming d...

Re: Newbie Rear Brake Light Question(S), 20001 Model
Just nipped to Halfords to buy a couple of bulbs and hey presto - brake lights working again! Thanks very much for your help Simon and Rita. Paul I kept blowing Halfords bulbs. Problem stopped when a decent one was fitted by Adrian at Japandirect when I was there. I suspect Halfords ones could be i...

Oops - just noticed that! Of course it's meant to say 2001. I haven't managed to bag some black market new Bongo version

Re: Newbie Rear Brake Light Question(S), 2011 Model
Apologies - just read your reply again, and I think I understand.
I assume it must be possible for one filament to blow in a twin filament bulb, and that in both cases the "brake" filament has gone?
I'll order new bulbs and see how I get on.
Thanks!
Paul

Okay - thanks Simon. This is what's confusing me though. This is a photo with lights on and brake depressed: http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b383/kitano/photo7-1.jpg This is with lights on and brake off: http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b383/kitano/photo8.jpg When the lights are off and the brake...

Re: Newbie Rear Brake Light Question(S), 2011 Model
Thanks for the replies, Rita and Simon. That's interesting about the brake light switch. I'm pretty sure that one brake light failed, followed by the other a few weeks later. To me that sounds like it's the bulbs, no? If the switch has gone, would the spoiler brake light stop working too? It still w...

Newbie Rear Brake Light Question(S), 2001 Model
Hi all, Okay, so it appears that my brake bulbs have (possibly) blown. But first, I have a very basic question to ask: Where is the brake bulb found in the rear light cluster? Is it in the part marked 1 or 2 in the pic below? http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b383/kitano/photo6-2.jpg Thanks! Paul
