Haven't been on here for ages . Had my bongo for 5 years now. Just fitted a Thule 973 bike rack ( bought second hand )
Fits great but tailgate now won't stay open due to extra weight of the rack . Any suggestions to get around this , maybe uprated telescopic struts?
Thanks folkes

Re: Replacing ATF metal pipes
Well I replaced the ATF metal pipes and the metal heater coolant pipe a few days ago. Not the easiest job to be honest, access was very restricted but eventually all sorted in the end. Also took the opportunity of replacing most other coolant hoses , new coolant and see saw bleeding of system.

Drive away awning
Garage clear out I have a Royal traveller 4 drive away awning, from memory it's pretty complete, all poles, etc , even the inner tent. Do any Bongo fury members want it ?
Collection from South Wales and it's way too heavy to post sorry

Replacing ATF metal pipes
Hi Folkes, I'm planning to change the metal ATF pipes that run from the transmission to the front radiator as mine has a slight weep. I've ordered the pipes and rubber hoses. Any advice on fitting them bleeding afterwards etc, I'm also changing the radiator and top and bottom hoses the same time, I'...

Re: Radiator replacement?
Great advice NB as always , yes I'm doing myself and did a coolant change a few months ago . NB when you say split the oil cooler pipes do you mean remove them from the rad side or from the oil cooler side before removing the rad? One thing I did have problems with when bleeding is finding a suitabl...

Re: Radiator replacement?
Thanks Bob, I thought as much and absolutely will get it done ASAP , not risking driving it at all really. Anyone out there used an after market one with success. They are less than half the price?

Radiator replacement?
Hi folkes, Hopefully a pretty straightforward question. Saw liquid patch on drive today, coolant leak from radiator, coolant alarm went off seems to be coming from the top of the rad weeping from the top edge. Coolant loss but not below the min level on header tank so hopefully no air introduced , t...

Re: New starter battery
Thanks Mike, I just wondered whether fitting a larger 85+ battery would put any additional strain on the alternator?

Re: Rear awning
Nice cheap idea Bob. But ideally require standing height for getting changed etc. I'll continue to look around and do some research. I really like the idea of the Reimo Fritz if it could be self supporting and not require the tailgate open at bedtime.

Re: Rear awning
Thanks Bob, Thanks Mike, ok maybe my best option is a utility tent as suggested by Bob. I have a drive away awning which is great for longer stays but what I was after really was a quick solution for one or two nights stay for storage, coolbox or fridge etc.
