roof open alarm bleeping
Hi, I've had my van 10 years, the roof open warning light was on when I bought it, and it's happily blinked away for 10 years odd. The roof opening button has been a bit temperamental recently. Sometimes it takes a minute before it decides to open/close. It also has a problem opening fully, sometime...

fans & air conditioning
Hi, quick question about how the fans work. In my Bongo the fans don't seem to start until I turn it to 4, at which point they come on full blast. Does this sound right? The air con also only seems to work when it's pointing to 1. There's a light on the air con button which comes on when I switch it...

Yes please. I need one to replace my dodgy space saver spare. Is there any chance you could hold it for me til next weekend?
Thanks,
Stu

spare wheel query
I have trawled here and the web and have some outstanding questions. I have a 95 Ford Freda 2.5TD. My space saver spare tyre fell apart when I needed it most unfortunately. Got towed to quickfit for a new tyre. Now, the spare wheel itself is extremely rusty. Is it still structurally sound? Can I jus...

Re: Servicing in the Region
Any recommendations for a local outfit that will do some electrics for me?
I have two batteries in my bongo, and I'm not sure how or if (what I presume to be) the leisure battery is configured. I have an external camping plug I want fitted also.
thanks!

Re: Battery accident
I think I must be extremely lucky then - I took out the ruined battery, put the old one back in, and it started first time!! Should I use it like this, or should I get another new battery? Is there a risk pairing an old battery with a new one? i.e. will the old one drain the new one and reduce life?...

Battery accident
I ordered two new batteries after the old girl was failing to start. I installed them this morning and when I tried to attach the negative there was a huge flash and half the terminal melted. I checked to see if I was still alive (I was). I then set out to work out what went wrong. I turns out I was...

Re: Bongo acting up - help
Yes, so water in the tank  To this day the only way I think it could have got there was an unscrupulous petrol station owner in Bratislava, as the problems started after filling up there. Unless in some way having a loose fuel cap sucks in water from the outside when it rains??! The other poss...

Re: Bongo acting up - help
A little update. I'm in Czech, with a trailer and a Land Rover. Unfortunately the Land Rover's alternator went on the way over, just to make things a little more interesting, so our little trip is going to be extended while we get this fixed! A further question: If Bongo isn't starting, is it safe t...

Re: Bongo acting up - help
Another quick question. Will I need towing mirrors? I'm hoping not as the bongo isn't as wide as a caravan?!

Re: Bongo acting up - help
wow, lots has gone on since I've been here. I suspected it wasn't an issue with the gearbox. Unfortunately I just don't think I'm going to find a mechanic over there who can speak enough English to make use of all this. I have decided to tow it back to the UK. I'm going over at Easter. Eastbourne wo...
