Re: CAT FLAP INNER ROOF REVERSAL

If you don't move the struts, the the inner roof won't close. I believe done people have drilled a new lower mount, as you suggest, but then the leverage is different for the struts. I would suggest that drilling a new top mount is easier in a number of ways, as well as training the correct geometry.

Re: A really simple pimp -added a tablet

I wouldn't mind the BMW clock if it's now spare - could do a P/Ex for a full-sized cubby which I bought for mine.

Thanks,

Re: Using water with no noticeable symptoms

I was losing water, but pressure test (twice) showed no issue. Turned out to be the water pump, which only leaked when cold, so pressure test (warm) showed no issues. Shine a torch down behind the alternator belt towards the crankshaft pulley (the water pump sits above this). Can you see any dampnes...

Re: Parking sensors

I fitted reversing sensors on mine soon after I got it - very worthwhile indeed. Try to get used to using the rear mirror as well. I am now a bit fed up of the constant reversing beep as well as the sensor beep, so just off outside to cut the red/yellow wire as per http://www.bongoforum.co.uk/cgi-bi...

Re: Central locking help

By chance, I've just bought an identical setup. However, I don't appear to have an existing solenoid on the driver's door (although I do have central locking) so have bought one to fit. I have tested it all 'on the bench' and am happy with the wiring etc. However, I would be interested to know how t...

Re: Panic...water leak!!!

That'll be your rear heater matrix pipe. I believe some people bypass this altogether, but will obviously lose rear heating.

Someone will be along shortly to give you exactly what you need.

You'll need to bleed the system thoroughly afterwards, as with any work on the bongo cooling system.

Re: CAT FLAP INNER ROOF REVERSAL

Thanks for the help Adam, will wait for the rivnuts to arrive and get that sorted, but the kids have already given the new layout the thumbs-up. Had to modify the roof mattresses to remove the 'flap' section, but all looking good. I won't need to be lifting the inner flap for a while, so no rush to ...

Re: CAT FLAP INNER ROOF REVERSAL

Thanks, I've ordered some of these. Can you tell me how far you moved the holes? Presumably you moved towards the hinge, not towards the front?
Thanks,

I bought a DOMETIC COMBICOOL RC 1700 yesterday afternoon. It is already in my house chilling my cider for next weekend less than 24 hours later! 41l capacity, 30 degrees below ambient. Already got ice on the chiller. There were no good used examples of 3-way fridges available within collecting dista...

Re: CAT FLAP INNER ROOF REVERSAL

I decided it was easier to move the strut brackets, where they fix to the roof. I drilled new holes and used rivnuts. Did you do this without specialist tools? I assume you drilled through the outer lip in order to drill the inner? Can you tell me specifically which rivnuts you ordered for this, and...

Re: CAT FLAP INNER ROOF REVERSAL

Next was to fix the struts to the existing holes nearest the front of the bongo and drilling two new holes for self tapping screws. I decided to have a go myself, this evening. Removed inner roof (had to cut the light cable as it fed THROUGH the hinge before the plug), drilled out flap hinge rivets...

Re: Thermometer thoughts

Just fitted mine, and after relocating a couple of switches, it fits quite nicely in the dash: https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-wsDRiVISSuw/U90ijS87OCI/AAAAAAAAJJA/Q921tPqYzy4/w640-h480-no/20140802_184017.jpg https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-gW9rfaUBn5U/U90it22-T7I/AAAAAAAAJJM/UJ9auMRU94s/w640-h...

What are these?

While fitting a temperature gauge yesterday, I found a disconnected wire hanging down the back of the engine hump, with the corresponding connector just being the handbrake. Any idea what this is for? I've not noticed anything not working so what is it? I'm guessing it was left disconnected by the g...
