Re: What could cause this overheating. Water pump failure?
I remember reading somewhere to raise the front of the vehicle to help with the bubbles to rise up. When I took mine into Ian Taylor to bleed his mechanic had my front up on ramps whilst bleeding.

Re: blue smoke on start up !
When were the valves last checked / adjusted? If never then may be worth getting these checked.
I got mine checked (no smoke issues though) and the engine was smoother afterwards. And that was on a TD with 83K KM's.

Front Cigarette Socket - Removal
How is the front cigarette socket held in please?
I need to remove it to check in-built fuse wire and finding it very hard to get to and hence do not know how it is held in.
Thanks.
Joe

Does anybody know what the rear spring length is please and what the wear limit is?

Re: Air-Lift Suspension - Valve Location
Mine are mounted on the rear panel of the tool cupboard under the step, keeps them nice and clean and protected, I don't find I need to get to them that often so its not a problem to remove the cover for access. Others have put them on the rear vertical section of the plastic step itself. Did you d...

Re: scavinger fan
Is there anyway of testing the scavenger fan sensor to make sure it is working properly? Yes i think you can test it using e.g. a hairdryer (the sensor is near the handbrake i think) but why bother when an engine temp block gauge and over-ride will produce a happier and more reliable state of affai...

Air-Lift Suspension - Valve Location
Not after how good / bad these are but after ideas of where and how to mount the valves that you input the air in via.
Pictures and idea would be gratefully appreciated.
Thanks

Let us know how you get on as that looks a good choice - more room for not a lot of length I believe.Glenda wrote:Hoping to get the boring Toyota Hiace LWB Hi Top. Time for a change......be wary of those dodgy imports everyone!

Take a look here ... you can look at batteries via their sizes.

Re: Air lock introduced by new fuel filter
Not changed one myself but I think I read somewhere to fill the new filter with diesel before fitting - this helps to prevent airlocks.

Re: Mushroom roof and larger bed
I have a JAL mushroom with wide bed.
Roof ... if you do go for one then make sure you ask for ventilation flaps/mesh to be installed each end as it gets very stuffy in there.
Wide bed ... yes not much storage space but I went for a good nights sleep rather than storage.
