Re: An Afternoon with George (Bongospares)
On looking round, I suspect it's always going to be worth a call to George - he has tons of stuff lying around which makes no appearance on his site. An example would be sets of Chrome mirrors, some fantastic sets of used (and brand new) wheels & tyres. The minor thing about center consuls I sho...

An Afternoon with George (Bongospares)
What a guy, I needed a few parts for some of the vans, so decided to whizz over to Sowerby Bridge and have a chat mano-a-mano with George. What he doesn't know isn't worth knowing. He gave me the grand tour and the chance to view his vast piles of spares, many, many diesel cylinder heads - he even d...

Re: Wiring Rearview Camera
My two penneth - I've done a few & the easiest way to pick up the Reverse signal I find is by removing the dials & use the "R" light feed on the plug-in connector nearest the drivers side, third cable from the left. Behind the dials.
Good luck

Re: Which leisure battery
Hay Pete, I just fitted a 120ah AGM from advancedbatterysupplies.co.uk £75 with 4 year warranty. Normal price is £95 cash, but I traded two 110's which weren't holding charge. I've had countless motorcycle batteries off him over the years & found them great to work with. Tight squeeze, but worth...

Re: Fridge
I've gone down the solar route, 160 watts & a 120 ah leisure battery, Waeco fridge is now left on 12volts 24/7. Only hooking up if we need a heater :D (once I get round to fitting the Mikuni heater, I'll be dropping off grid proper) For info, the Waeco interior light flashes 5 in a row when the ...

Re: Hire van insurance
Hya Stu,
My daughter Maddy is marrying a nice chap called Aiden Cook and when I visited her last year, I spied yer van over the road - subsequently Aiden's mum moved across the road to another house she owns, which in my head plonks her very close to you
Small world matey

Re: Flip Down TV
On the point of Eonon quality, I've committed to the full set, so ask me again in a year or so! I've gone for the double din, separate dtv box & the flip down. Working fine so far - but 3 remotes is a tad ridiculous. Coupled with the standard bongo sound system, sitting in "the back row&quo...

Re: Flip Down TV
Hya, Yeah I bought an eonon direct from honk kong £135.00 plus 60+ import duty etc. I have a 2001 with aft, so basically I lifted the roof, lifted the mattress support and drilled directly through the roof and the headlining. I then used 6mm x 75mm bolts with 50mm dia washers. Securing the bolts to ...

Re: Flip Down TV
Not sure about the flex on the cables, but I managed a 19incher on the roof lining between the front seats.

Gas Safe Engineer required in North West England
Hy All, Happy to say my DIY conversion is now (just about) complete. This in no small part is thanks to the prior contributors to this font of all Bongo knowledge. One thing I am missing is a Gas safe engineers certificate for the smev/3.9kg propane bottle install. I would be grateful if someone cou...

Re: Solar Panel not charging leisure battery
I'd look at the Victron 75/15 for your set-up. Deffo go for MPPT. worth their weight in gold if you find you are partially shaded at any time. Avoid the cheapo ones on eblag, check out you tube. Most of the low end ones that claim to be MPPT aren't. For 100 Watt no need for greater than 10 amp. Happ...
