The bongo has been sold

Well, I sold the bongo.

Not by choice, but by economic reasons.

Tried to ignore the thought of it and was fairly successful until I saw the joy of the next owner. I'm depressed now.

I blame David Cameron and drafting a letter right now.

Re: My bongo has stopped starting

Thanks Geoff, yes all those have failed. I'm not very technical, so does that mean the fuse on the top right of the bank of fuses below the steering column needs replacing? It needs looking at or its equivalent if you have a LB fitted, the chances are that yes its been blown by someone working on t...

Re: My bongo has stopped starting

The black fuel leads were connected to the red and black leads of the cut off leads by male and female connectors. I reconnected the black fuel pump leads. I haven't connected the red and black cut off leads as I thought I wouldn't need to. Do you think I should? no just leave it as is. the black a...

the 2 sideways adjusters you are talking about are for mounting the pump. There is another 2 below making 4 in total. Just leave them as is :)

Re: air con belt loose

No. There is a tensioner pulley that needs a 17mm bolt unslackened at the front, then a 10mm bolt that you wind in clockwise to tighten. Starting at the top of the pump follow the belt towards the engine. There is a small pulley about 10cm in diameter about 30 cm along towards the engine from the pu...

You disconnected a switch for the disabler as you say. Did you have to connect two wires together after that? The mind boggles....

Re: Alternator/fan/aircon belt change

I hadn't realised (remembered!) that Ian had used my "how to change the water pump" in a factsheet. It seems that the instructions are in the wrong sheet. Ignore all the references to waterpump and its pulley! DA I started off trying to loosen the bolts to the pump and was failing miserab...

Re: header tank cap gone

You need one that is rated at 1.1 bar. So as long as it fits. Check the ledge just below and behind of the nearside headlight. I found mine there before :)

Re: Alternator/fan/aircon belt change

Just checked the factsheet and it's clearly wrong. There's definitely no need to remove the pump or pulley, just slacken the respective tensioners and refit the belts. Just in from doing it and realised the factsheet was wrong. Cheers. Nice wee job that. Had to give the ignition a wee flick to get ...

Alternator/fan/aircon belt change

Just started the process of changing the 3 belts on my diesel bongo then remembered the fact sheet.

The factsheet instructions say to remove the water pump towards the end of the instructions. Is this needed and if so why? Thanks in advance. Fassi
