how to: auto power mirrors

Hi All, happy beginning of summer,

thanks in advance,

which seats will fit in a bongo?

as per previous post I need a replacement drivers seat and am wondering if I can use any other seats in a Bongo? perhaps something a bit more luxurious like out of a Volvo or something. any experiences?

Re: Locks and Alarms

I was thinking about blanking off all except one of the existing locks and fitting an alarm with keyless entry.

driver seat sensor?

Is there a sensor in the driver's seat? There is a connector and a wire that joins the loom by the handbrake.

Locks and Alarms

Hi All, Obie Bongo went up to Glasgow and got broken into. As well as breaking in and stealing stuff a fire was started so this weekend was dismantling burn bits (not too bad the fire was spotted quickly, its a bit of the drivers seat and the cab carpets and the cab headlining that needs replacing) ...

Re: Great Campsite - Keld, Swaledale, Yorkshire Dales

There was us and a VW campervan. I think Mr and Mrs Rukin are keen to keep the site as a family experience and not have lots of noisy people. We could park up at the bottom site - the top field was too wet for vehicles. Midgies become a problem as the days get warmer - we would go in the whit holida...

Great Campsite - Keld, Swaledale, Yorkshire Dales

This is one of the best places I have camped ever. Rukin's Campsite in Keld. Its basic - but then isn't that the point of a Bongo? go anywhere and camp anywhere. Two sites - one right next to the swale which is a beautiful river with waterfalls upstream and downstream. You have to walk up the hill a...

I'm sure a Leeds based Bongonaut will get back to you soon - if all else fails I'm up in Norton about an hour away from you.

Re: Servicing

Oil, Oil filter and Air filter for a diesel are going to cost around £60 if you bought them direct . the garage will add on a bit of mark up. Change all of those and do a visual inspection an hour at most so whatever your garage's labour rate is per hour. On the service schedule it says replace the ...

Re: Go faster - Go Better?

thanks Andy - I would imagine that cleaning the engine must at least restore it to some extent. It would be interesting to hear if people who have had this done have ever experienced the kind of problems you are describing from loosened up carbon etc. Helen - thanks for your post - my intention was ...

Re: Go faster - Go Better?

Water/Meth injection is a good idea Rapidair and would cool the induction charge perfectly when the turbo is turned up. It would fit well with the electronic boost control to give a system that would be safe for the engine and the map could be turned down for when the water/meth injection wasn't wor...

Re: Go faster - Go Better?

You are right Gefail - WL-T is supposed to produce 125bhp not 105bhp. That was the easiest power upgrade ever, no grease or expense involved. Thanks for your ideas Tony they look interesting and if I ever take the heads off then flowing and porting them would make sense. I think I am leaning towards...

Go faster - Go Better?

I have had Obie Bongo since September 2015 and have been delighted by it in lots of ways - mostly about what a great little camper it is and I love the whole Japanese design approach to flexibility. What sometimes has occurred to me is that its performance is a touch flat with 105bhp from the Oil bu...
