Re: Double Din Sat Nav, DVD and stereo
Hi, There have been reports of some of the cheaper Chinese made "all in one" units having a high current draw (up to 1/2 amp) when switched "off". Perhaps somebody with more up to date knowledge could confirm or debunk this rumour? It seems to be an issue with a fair few of the ...

Re: French " Crit’Air initiative" be aware!
It's very unclear how this will effect Bongos isn't it. Some sections read that it's all about the specific EURO emissions standard and go on to provide dates for these. If this is the case I can't imagine any Bongo will get a disc. Then they publish this PDF that says year OR emissions standard, wh...

Re: Facebook
Speaking of search, I find it really annoying that by default a normal google search just doesn't include forum results from here. Seems like a missed opportunity to me.

Are you on any of the Facebook groups at all. There's a guy on one of the groups currently looking to swap back to a standard bench so there may be one for sale soon.

Re: Wiring Rearview Camera
My two penneth - I've done a few & the easiest way to pick up the Reverse signal I find is by removing the dials & use the "R" light feed on the plug-in connector nearest the drivers side, third cable from the left. Behind the dials. Good luck The buzzer next to the accelerator is...

Re: Tiny Jump-Starter Pack
I've got one and it's brilliant. Mines called a Jumping Jack Supermax. I've not needed to use it to start a Bongo yet but it has started a 2.5D Ducato motorhome. I mainly use it camping for power in the awning to charge phones and run some led lights.

Re: Last few jobs
You've got a few options for the fog. You could get a hole cut in the bumper and mount one flush there, you could sacrifice a reverse light on the OSR and true it into a fog with a red bulb or when I got mine there was a small LED light mounted in the reflector at the bottom of my new style rear lig...

Re: Steering wheel controls
I'm awaiting delivery of a Cmax radio stalk and the bit of loom that it attaches to - I'm hopeful that I can fashion a mount for it below the wiper stalk and hook it into my stereo through an interface. Apart from the stalk everything else has transfered from my Cmax so the job should only cost a f...

Re: Reupholstered original back seats
I can't help with the cost but we've got a side conversion from Northstar, instead of a R&R bed it uses both original bench seats but shortened and reupholstered to make a flatter bed. The flattening makes a massive difference. We still use a topper to make it absolutely comfortable but only an ...

Could you mount a PC fan on some sort of quick release mount, to reverse just flip it over.

Re: Vango airbeam awnings
I've got a Kela 3 Low which is chuffing brilliant. The latest models are available in 3 heights with the low a new addition, the previous Kela 2 was only available in standard or tall. I believe the standard will work with a Bongo but the low versions are much better. Being mega critical the arrange...

Re: Steering wheel controls
I was lucky as I got mine for about £50 including postage.
Mines a newer Bongo with airbag so that definitely complicated things, I could be tempted with an RX8 wheel but not sure how easy that would be to achieve.

I've fitted an axxxess swcstalk in mine.
It's an aftermarket stereo stalk and I had to import mine from the states, but it works very well.
I'll get some pictures tomorrow but have a Google.

Re: 2005 Bongo HID headlights flickering & cutting out
does it get worse if you switch on high electrical loads like the heated rear screen & the blowers on full ? No, normally most noticeable for the first few miles after start up I would say. Could that possibly be because the battery is being charged more, once the capacity used by starting is r...
