Re: ROI Bongo travelling to Glastonbury
... but we are at Stourport. Are you planning on staging a sit in Bob ... Glastonbury is the weekend after :D I'm sure you'll be fine Alkers. I'm in Newport and if you have any problems in South Wales I'd be happy to help a fellow Bongonaut if I could. I'll PM my mobile number. Enjoy the festival ....

Re: Replacing Passenger Door Window
I'd forgotten about Bongo Spares.
That's brilliant, thanks - I'll give them a call.

Replacing Passenger Door Window
I've had a break-in to my Bongo via a smashed passenger door window :( In terms of getting a replacement, I imagine the breakers listed here are the best place to start? It's a 1999 model. Does anyone know if the windows of the earlier Bongos are the same, or did this change with the 'facelift'? Fin...

Re: Possible Irish Bongo Bash
Just spotted this thread.
Sounds like a great idea.
The Irish Camping and Caravanning Club could help with advice and I have contacts there.
I imagine the difficulty might be in establishing how many BF members would make the journey over.

Re: Allan's bongo service
I actually drove it down once before when it wasn't having an MOT and just completely forgot to tax it beforehand
I was convinced that was going to be an expensive mistake but somehow got away with it. I would have thought there are a number of ANPR sites along the M5.

Re: Allan's bongo service
Mine's just been down and back from South Wales to Allan's.
Given that it's currently SORN'ed I reckon I made good use of the one trip to/from an MOT test rule

Re: VARIOUS SCAMS PLEASE BE WARNED
If a text message from my daughter contained more than six words I'd immediately be suspicious
Some of the email ones are very realistic however. The best approach is to assume everything is a scam in the first instance and then look for evidence to the contrary.

Re: Best at the mo
... At that point he wasn't so pleasant and suggested his insurers had gone out of their way to give me a quote and wouldn't be so keen to next year as I turned them down. It was pretty intimidating and left a bad taste. I am not sure what to think of that. I'd have burst out laughing at that point...

Re: 20 y.o Bongo Euro breakdown cover, possible ?
I was going to take out European breakdown cover as an add-on to my insurance but while it was cheap it appeared to have very significant restrictions. While I normally go for cheapest minimum coverage on insurance, I think this is one policy that I might spend more money on to ensure that I'm fully...

Re: Best at the mo
Just bought my first Bongo recently and in shopping around for insurance Adrian Flux was the cheapest so I went with them. It is a painful experience compared having to ring up each company and go through the fifty questions, compared to the simplicity of the online comparison sites for general car ...

Re: SB and LB Recommendations Please
Just measure up the tray and select the largest capacity battery that will fit in the height, there are several in the Powerline range that would fit most trays and be greater than 100AmpHr capacity. That's the approach I would take. Pick the biggest one that will fit and looks like good value on t...

Re: Adding pop-top, rust repairs, and general newbie questions
I was under the impression that JAL will only do a room installation on vehicles they supply but I will give them a call to check this if I decide to proceed. I've now made contact with Allan by email and will be making arrangements to get the Bongo down to him for service / health inspection. He do...

Re: Newbie from Ireland !
Hi Brian, I'm a newbie too, just bought a Bongo but not sure what I'm doing with it yet :) One of the reasons for buying it is to lend it to my Mum over in Dublin, with a view to her getting one in due course, so I'll be interested to learn how you get on. Dad is ill and probably won't be with us fo...

Re: Diesel Dripping From Area of Pump -- In Spain -- Advice Needed
Are you heading further south or back into France? I don't know how old it is but in the 'top tips' section of the site there's details of a Bongo mechanic in the Costa Blanca area: “My name is Frank. I am a mobile mechnic in Spain and I am familiar with Bongos. I cover from Valencia to Alicante. If...
