Re: Another Bongo-Friendly Garage Request
Many thanks Ian. We're near Guildford, so they might be a little closer to us.

I certainly don't remember seeing them on there if they were. I'll take a look. Many thanks.

Re: Another Bongo-Friendly Garage Request
Thanks for the suggestion g8dhe,
I did download that before when I was a full member but it wasn't that helpful for my area unfortunately.
I'm hoping there might be some new places since that list was compiled.
Many thanks,
Phil

Another Bongo-Friendly Garage Request
HI All,
Sorry to trouble you all, but does anybody know of a Bongo-friendly garage in Surrey / SE?
The ones we used to use no longer have Bongo experts working there and we've had bad experiences since so it would be great to get a more recent recommendation.
Many thanks in advance,
Hills

Re: Glowplug light flashing - daft codes
You don't say what year vehicle, some time after 1999 they switched to 4-digit codes not 2-digit ones, you need to read them the same way, but as 4 individual digits as opposed to a 10's and 1's.
She's 2001 so that's it.
Turns out the 4-digit code is 0115 - Engine Coolant Temperature Circuit ...

Glowplug light flashing - daft codes
Hi all,
Once warm, our diesel Bongo goes into limp mode with glowplug flashing. We connected the jumper to the diagnostic port and read the ECU codes from the glowplug light but they don't make sense when we look them up on this page - http://www.philmcfadden.co.uk/MazdaDiagnosticBox.htm
The codes ...

Fitted Thule 973 - Lessons learnt
We recently got hold of a Thule 973 bike rack and fitted it to our Bongo using the VERY useful photos in this thread - https://igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/viewtopic.php?t=47412
It wasn’t exactly straight forward, but definitely doable with a bit of patience. We thought it may help others if we ...

Re: best setup for sleeping upstairs
Hello hills
will the cat flap work for a couple of adults , be it short ones
I assume yours still hinges on the original location at the rear of the bus ?
Thanks
Brian
Sorry for late response... Yes! It's fine for me and the missus. The person staying in bed just has to move their legs ...

Re: best setup for sleeping upstairs
We have just picked up our first Bongo... first campervan in fact. We are wondering what is the best way to set up for sleeping in the roof area. In our inexperienced eyes, it appears that if you had any sort of bed up there, the hatch would need to be blocked. All fine and dandy until someone ...

What's happening to me!?
I'm a self-professed numpty when it comes to DIY and fixing things, and about as handy as a bus-driver's sock!
But since becoming a proud bongo owner I've done the following...
Made my own awning that attaches to the three hooks under the AFT lid
Diagnosed and fixed an issue with the ...

Re: Please help trouble with garage.
Sorry to hear you've had problems.
If you're in Surrey then I bet I know what garage it was. If I'm right, then I had some issues with
them in the past, and regretted ever taking our Bongo there. I know of at least one other member here (via PM) who also had problems with them.
It seems they ...

Re: AFT tent light corrosion
Thanks guys - really useful. I'm trying the vinegar approach as it's what I had to hand (thanks for the suggestion Sotal) and will check the results when I get back from work. I also managed to sort out a couple of decent contact points for the meter and have isolated one bad joint that I'll have a ...

AFT tent light corrosion
HI folks,
The interior light in the AFT tent of my Bongo (i.e. the one behind the AFT lock/cancel button) has stopped working, and on dismantling it I can see that there's a lot of corrosion in there.
I can't see any signs of a water leak in the area, so my best guess at present is that it ...

Homemade awning sloping towards Bongo
Hi all!
A while back I put together a homemade awning from a decathlon tarp using some drain rods and bungee balls (to hold it to the three hooks under the AFT cover). It's not the prettiest thing in the world, but it works well enough for us :D This year, I wanted to try raising the font edge up a ...

Re: U-shaped cabin bulb - alternatives?
I had the same dim bulb problem a couple of years ago and used a COB lamp as per the link by G8DHE, here :-http://www.g8dhe.net/bongo_images/replacement_fluorescent_tube/
The instructions are easy to follow and the lamp is now super bright.
The only thing I would say that the lamp plate does get ...
