Re: Cigarette socket removal

Thanks Geoff, I managed to gently lever it out in the end with some plastic spudgers. Even with it out and disconnected I couldn't rotate or slide the green bit it was jammed fast. All fixed though now, and many thanks for your assistance.

Re: Cigarette socket removal

Hi Geoff, that's it, yes. I can see both of those. One goes down quite easily, the other seems solid. Do you think I need to rotate it to get both to go in? I'll have another go. Thank you!

Re: Cigarette socket removal

So I can see/feel those clips and 1 seems to go in easy and the other feels solid. Is it just a case of gripping it harder do you think? They are difficult to get much purchase on. sorry for all the questions on something that feels a bit simple!

Re: Cigarette socket removal

I think that's the bit I'm missing. It's difficult to see what's going on while upside down in the foot well, but I've not been able to feel/see what I'm trying to unlock. Is the clip visible on the images above? I'm not sure what I'm looking for.

Hi everyone, sorry reopen an old thread, but I'm struggling to get this out. Any tips and tricks to getting the metal bit slide forward from the front?

Re: best awning for bongo's

Is your Bongo a tin top or a pop top?
Bongo height measurement is according to google 2.1m whereas the minimum height for the awning is 2.2m according to google.
The awning attaches via an awning rail, do you have this on your van?

In my experience, there are not many "external accessories" that ...

WANTED: Alloy wheels

I'm still using the original steel wheels on my Tin Top Bongo and a couple are nearing needing replacement. If anyone is selling a set of alloys please can they let me know.

Re: Dismantle Rear Bench

I looked at this for exactly the same reason and found this video of a guy dismantling one on Youtube. I then decided it wasn't worth the effort and made room in my garage instead!

It was £400 when I was checking. That was a year or so ago IIRC.

Re: Radio suggestions for a new bongo owner

Personally I've been looking at a 7" wireless Android Auto stereo. I've got the best GPS/traffic software, unlimited music etc on my phone, so why not just use that to drive a screen?

Re: Problems with power dropping out, have I killed my engine?

I'm nowhere near as mechanically inclined as some of the regulars on here but IIRC the issue with E10 was that one of the pinking agents that replaced the lead was corrosive to some of the pipes, as opposed to not compatible with the engine in general. But like I said someone with more knowledge ...

Re: Northstar Conversions Middle Swivel Seat

The only thing I'd say is that I decided I quite fancy this in my Bongo. They have a post on their web page saying if you're having any work done they'll lend you a van to explore the island while they did it. I thought this sounded great so I contacted them several times and didn't get a response.

Re: Solar Install Questions

You might find you can get a 12v charger for your laptop and drone. That's how I charge my laptop in the van. Ordinarily laptop chargers want 14v-16v DC so getting a charger to make that step specifically would be much more efficient than going up to 240v and back down again.

My brain knows that ...
