Re: Bongo Breakdown (Paris)
If it was me and I hoped to repair it without possibly causing more damage/terminal failure and even more ££££s; I would bite the bullet and get a full lift/recovery back to the Port, especially if you have no real idea of the temperature the engine is operating at. Have you had a play around with t...

Re: Roof bars or racks
The one's on eBay for circa £40 look complete rubbish.
I have Thule raingutter system and square bars (there are no other Thule options that will work) and affixed a roof tent. I am impressed with the system. Previous post on here what I ordered etc

Re: TinTop to PopTop
There is a Bongo specialist in the NW that transplants OE AFTs with motors/electronics et al onto TinTops, when I enquired the cost was approximate to an aftermarket pop-top so circa £3K+

Re: MPG Myth Busters!
Easy to fit. Bolts onto roof bars using a ratchet ring spanner, getting it on the roof was ok with two people and then it slides over the bars. Will remove it end of October and fit again in the Spring.

Re: Exhaust, cheap rubbish :(
I would prefer to pay for something more substantial rather than cheap parts, have SS exhausts on other cars and one has been on for 16 years. Thinking circa £100 every few years is a false economy? Not sure what is out there for the Bongo that is substantial in the shop most appear out of stock, I ...

Re: MPG Myth Busters!
There are many variants to choose from, but yes they would fit both your vehicles, Mini even do one! Here are a couple of suppliers, I can vouch for Tuff Trek quality and realistic prices, Ikamper is good but £3K+ counts them out for me. Soft and hard shell, I prefer the hard shell, less hassle and ...

MPG Myth Busters!
I'm a sucker for anorak articles, as I have just stuck a hardshell roof top tent on my Bongo I was interested in possible mpg issues with 50Kg extra weight and added resistance, this article confirms my first drive with it on; that it had no real impact on motorway and A roads for my mpg, the AC on ...

Re: Thinking of getting a Bongo...
I think I can although biased or maybe even slightly delusional :D I have an absolutely mint Aero now with about 49K miles, which cost roughly one tenth of the price of a new VW Californina. On the A303 on Friday (when it was thankfully a clear run) going West I marvelled at the procession of T5 cam...
