Re: Tyre size and Wobble over 65mph

OK - Problem SOLVED The rear tyres on my Bongo were 205/70 R15 - they should have been 215/70 R15 (according to the sticker on the inside of the door) Changed the tyres and - WOBBLE GONE :D :D :D Happy camper #-o Excellent. Suspect the cure was probably linked to wheel balancing rather than change ...

Re: Tyre size and Wobble over 65mph

are you getting a knocking sound when turning corners? if you are its your steering ball joints however with your tyres not being the correct size there is a chance someone has changed the tyres and not balanced them properly. check to see if you have weights on the rims of your wheels, if not they...

Re: Tyre size and Wobble over 65mph

if it is an awd 4x4 then i would put the recommended tyre size on as you can damage your transfer box/diff , also is the wobble and actual movement wobble or is it excessive vibration? Not a 4x4 - also its more of the slightest movement in the steering at speed is exaggerated and to get it back str...

Tyre size and Wobble over 65mph

Referring to a Locked post: https://igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=61920&start=15 I have brought a Bongo about 5 months ago and I also get a wobble at speed. I have to concentrate really hard to keep it under control. The speedo also reads 4 mph faster than the Sat Nav. The ...

Not running after start up

1997 - Bongo petrol 2.5 v6 Today, my Bongo broke down. Been driving it all day and then just died at a set of lights. Then, wouldn't start at all. Called out the recovery man. Long story short, if we left it for 10 mins, it'll start, run for 1 to 2 mins and then die. Then will start again but die af...

Thanks - I wouldnt have a clue about changing the engine - leave that to the experts. Just wanted to do a bit of research on the cost of a new engine

Bongo Engine Type

Hi - Newbie here to the Bongo world. I have a colleague selling his Bongo (Diesel 2wd 1999 2.5) but it looks like the engine is on the way out. Is the engine only made for Bongos or is it another type (like a Mondeo or something) that I can get easily elsewhere.

Regards

J
