Oh, I see. Yes, private sale means having to prove it was not as described or the seller knew about the faults. Thanks. I bought it through ebay privately so pretty sure I have no recourse there. I'll see what the test garage says. Failing that its going to get expensive. I have another friend who fabricates and restores all manner of cars. Mainly Austins so fingers xd he can perhaps help me out.

The garage that I said I called this morning, was the tester. He did say if it not structural it wouldn't of failed.
