Re: Hand brake adjustment
IV chamgeed my pads and rotors in the past, however I think one of my caliper bolts maybe cross threaded as the last time I changed my pads I could only take one bolt off and fit the pads that way! I will have a look this evening and see what I can do whilst I'm looking. But not everyone gets or und...

Re: Hand brake adjustment
Ok thanks. Thisay be a silly question but is the Handbreak connected to the front or the rear wheels? There really isn't anything online to help me, and I don't honestly understand those split diagrams. They don't help me at all. I like to see the image with simple arrows or coloured lines!

Re: Hand brake adjustment
So basically I need to look on or towards the rear axel. Yes mine is an automatic, but when I look underneath, there is a long thick cable that runs to just past the.middle section with a rubber boot gaiter on connected to a small pulley lever. I can't attach.pics here I don't think, if I find a way...

Re: Hand brake adjustment
If your going to be doing a lot of your own maintenance work then its probably best to get the service manuals for your engine from the shop, there are 5 pages dedicated to the handbrake system alone with plenty of pictures and descriptions! But Never anything online? Lol anyway where is this cable...

Re: Hand brake adjustment
Hi all, just about to try & fix Bongo's "parking Brake lever has no reserve travel" MOT fail. Could only find a couple of locked threads from 2007 on the forum. Any hints, tips, photos etc would be much appreciated .. Check & adjust only via the parking brake drum on rear wheels? ...

Re: Shifter cable adjustment.
The locking in Park is handled by the Large silver button and the ratchet mechanism inside in conjunction with the interlock cable for the foot brake. Ok thanks for the advice but I honestly have no idea where to begin. I can't even remember now how it got like this lol. Also how do I tighten my ha...

Re: 2.5td engine out
Hi guys for some reason I cannot create my own post, but my question is regarding the starter motor bolts. Does anyone know what size they are to replace. 2 of mine are in fine but the 3rd one is 3/4 in with cross thread I believe, but it is connected and really firm. Would this be an issue for my m...

Re: Shifter cable adjustment.
My gear shifter won't lock in Park, and for some reason I don't need to use the break peddle either.......
Same interlock cable?????
I have located this twist bar and removed the black plastic cover and adjusted it, but it hasn't actually done anything beneficial for my gear stick problems

Re: Handbrake light not lit…..no beeping no roof
Thanks for that, I have a black plastic part but not sure what else I'm missing! I do have another small issue though. As I took the "AUTO" Gear stick off to look for the handbrake switch, and reassembled it, iv noticed that the gear shifter will move from *PARK* without pushing the button...

Re: Handbrake light not lit…..no beeping no roof
Hiya guys I'm facing same issue when working on my starter motor ( long story ) I thought it may of been the wire connectors stopping me from starting Van-Diresel up, but looks like it's the start of a solanoid issue, upon checking I noticed I didn't need the foot break to take it out of Park so I t...

Re: Respray or vinyl wrap?
Interesting post with a few good but different responses, I wrapped my bongo 10 years ago by hand ( Myself ) and to this day it still looks good, granted in some places it has lifted and started to peel back from years of various sun projected heat, but as mb next Mot is in March 24 iv decided to ge...

Re: Battery light always on!
Hello and thank you! Yes my Alternator needs a refurb, iv read that more than %80 of failed alternators would be the brushes, but I don't have a soldier iron to hand and not do I know what brushes do buy! If I could buy the whole brush unit ( I don't know the name of it) then I'd gladly order one an...

Re: Battery light always on!
I’ve just tested both alternator and battery with multi meter and both show over 12 bolts when running! My meter is old but still just about works lol! I’m wondering if there’s a fuse to check! I did pull fuse number 1 like I’ve read somewhere online but all that happens is a continual beep that’s r...

Battery light always on!
So last night I adjusted the alternator belt as I had a slight squeak! The long nut in the top never done anything as the 144mm along the left was clearly loose, so I thought bugger it, il do it tomorrow ( today ) I’ve not yet taken the final look at the alternator, but it is reasonably new so it do...
