Re: Vacuum system help
Thanks, mine does have some elements of the winter pack but not all. For instance the second battery is now leisure battery but I do have the snakes in the engine button. If leaving this disconnected only means that will never work I think I’ll leave it alone with two small wannabe bongo drivers...

Re: Vacuum system help
Hi, thanks for quick reply the part in question is at the bottom of drawing 1355. There is a U shaped pipe coming off the connection labelled 1357-20-411. On the other drawing that seems to match up to a three way connector, but an end cap is shown too?

Vacuum system help
Hello I have had some long term issues with my 02 2.5 diesel giving the flashing glow plug codes for turbo and wastegate issues. I took it to a garage who reconditioned the turbo which was rusted solid (they think someone kept topping up coolant with water in the past...) that worked for a while but...

New error code 0115
Hello I have an 02 Diesel and have been fighting the notorious 0040 and 1228 error codes for a while. I think my turbo is very gunged up and probably needs a whole new can of Mr Muscle. I think the EGR system has been blanked at some point in the past so might be contributing to that code. Anyway ha...

Re: 0400, 1228 & the EGR
Did you use the fuel additive from Wynns or the aerosol? If you used the aerosol did you take the turbo off to clean it or spray it up the exhaust side? I got the exhaust off and use Mr Muscle, in the end overnight and was still getting quite a lot of thick black discharge. Reassembled and drove and...

Re: 0400, 1228 & the EGR
Trying this fix now, I have the vertical actuator set up, how much should it deviate at the end of the process and should it move up or down?

Re: Bongo Diagnostics
I think at that age you have four digit codes. If you use a paperclip in to trigger the codes in the diagnostic connector you can read the sequence off the glow plug light. Each long pulse signifies a change of place in the 4 part code and the short flashes are the digit. There is usually one long p...

Re: 0400, 1228 & the EGR
Promised I would pop back once the garage had had a look. They are suggesting a new turbo as the wastegate actuator doesn’t move. Not sure which end of that linkage is the main problem though, the actuator or the bit inside the inter cooler. Just need to find the parts now!

Re: Turbo charger suppliers anyone
My garage said that the bongo needs a new turbo today, and I am struggling to find a reconditioned one that looks like mine. I have an 02 2.5diesel. All the reconditioned turbos seem to have a wastegate actuator fitted horizontally. This seems to be the older style looking at lush. My current set up...

Self Bleed Kits
I was browsing some of the Facebook groups and stumbled across a link to some self bleed kits. I wondered if anyone had used them and what they thought? The description wasn’t that detailed but It seems to expel any trapped air back to the expansion tank by fitting a bit more rubber tubing.

Re: 0400, 1228 & the EGR
I have the same problem and codes , there are definitely two EGR valves on the newer diesels. I have mine booked into the garage next week and I will let you know if/how they fix it. Interestingly when my glow light starts flashing I don’t think the van enters limp mode... it seems to perform the sa...

Re: heater controls led bulbs
I used them for the two bulbs in green holders on the left side of the unit as you look at it, I think they are the smaller ones. They are slightly slimmer than the originals at the head but should be ok. Search for condom in the thread search as that is a term not often used here and you will find ...

Re: Baro Sensor fault
Thanks for looking at the pics. I had guessed that the metal coolant pipe was now rubber but it seems well cabled tied in and seems to have stopped leaking. The coolant level hasn’t moved for a couple of weeks and it is driven every day so I am hoping that should be fine. Heating seems to be working...

Re: Fuel gauge light
Thanks for replies - it’s not an empty warning light JulesMartin it’s the light behind the normal fuel gauge pointer.
I will look to see if the fuel tank is earthed at the weekend, I guess that would make sense in terms of tech diagnosis.

Re: heater controls led bulbs
The originals are not LEDs and there is a thread on here about changing them for LEDs with resistors. They need to be 12v ready. That was a bit complex for me and I wanted to keep the original green colour and had the coloured “condoms” so I found these at the weekend which seem a good replacement. ...
