Re: V6 Petrol : Noise from belt/pulleys

A follow up for this. After the feedback, I took the van back to my local garage, because I wasn't convinced. Turns out that that noise is a good recording of a water-pump going! It wasn't the pulley (but, to be fair, that was from a cursory examination). I'm much happier now, knowing what the probl...

Re: V6 Petrol : Noise from belt/pulleys

Hi, My airco belt has been taken off after the bearings on the compressor went (and I didn't use it anyway). So it's just the one belt. I haven't been able to find ANY details on the pulley itself - but I have seen references to dampened ones (but I thought that was just TD?). I haven't got in-close...

Re: Introduction ...

Update (thanks for the welcomes) : I got the leisure system working beautifully ... and found out my starter battery was no good either! Have re-placed both and wired it all up, and it now 'just works'. Beautiful box which fits neatly onto the air intake(?), and wires together very tidily. I'll post...

V6 Petrol : Noise from belt/pulleys

Hi, I've recently had my engine serviced, and it's been running beautifully. However I've started to get a noise from the front of the engine. My local garage identified it as a worn crankshaft pulley (CS). I have tried to get one of these, but cannot find one directly online. In answer to my query,...

Re: Alternator? D+?

Thanks, and sorry for your obvious frustration.
I now know that the Alternator does not have a D+ (or equivalent).
I had installed it without, hence my readings, and it is working fine.
It would have been good it there was a D+ as the unit would be more sensitive.
Best Regards

Re: Alternator? D+?

Isn't X-20 the one I want? It's only going to be attached to a sensor, which determines the actual voltage coming from the alternator? No load. It's labelled as D+ for the unit (hangover from dynamos apparently). I think I would need to take it from between the alternator and the ignition relay - wh...

Re: Alternator? D+?

Thanks for that - I spent a while enabling Flash, but it was worth it. My model manual's not ready yet, but I'll assume the general principle ... Am I correct in reading that I can take the X-20 wire (G/R) from the alternator and tap that to take a voltage reading from the alternator output? I don't...

Re: Alternator? D+?

Ouch. Sorry. I've looked at multiple wiring diagrams, and can't make head nor tail of them with reference to real life. I was just following installation instructions, and hadn't heard of D+ before and thought someone might know. Turns out I'm looking for the voltage sense wire, which may or may not...

Alternator? D+?

Sorry. I'm not quite that dumb, I'm just hoping someone can point me at the info I need. I don't know the engine compartment of a Bongo (although I had a look when a flood impact ripped off the underskirt bit, and I know where the alternator is). I have difficulty moving the driver's seat and having...

Introduction ...

Hi, My name's tim. I'm a recent re-joiner to BongoFury, but I was a member a while back. I've had my Bongo for 10 years(ish) now (and I've used the site in the meantime when I wanted to know something) I'm introducing myself here, but the introduction is a bit long, so I'll ask the questions I have ...
