Rear heater temperature sensor

Hi all, I have a 1996 Bongo 2.5 diesel with climate control front and rear and a full side conversion. I have a query about the rear heating set up, it is all original (although the heater controls are moved into the kitchen unit side) and therefore the lower heating vents (feet heating) is into the...

Re: Over heating enquiry

OK, I've managed to borrow a compression testing kit, I'll do that and post the readings. I'm also tempted to get a digital temp reader to get a better idea of the engine temperature instead of just the 'mod' temp gauge. Could I ask, what is the compression kit, and how to use it ? Hi, it is my die...

Re: Quick release oil sump plug

Hi, this is what I've used on my Land Rover before now... https://www.difflock.com/drain-plug-m14-x-1-5-t11-5 Coupled with this makes oil changing not only quick but you can do it whilst wearing your whitest shirt! https://www.difflock.com/drainer-small-250mm Does anyone know the thread size and pit...

Re: Haydn Coolant Alarm False Alert

Battery condition is fine, it has the winter twin battery set up still, no starting issues for the entire time I've had it. I don't know where the power is taken from. I'll have a look and check connections. The oil warning cable was attached, which I disconnected, insulated the end and stored away....

Re: Haydn Coolant Alarm False Alert

Hi, yep sure have. Using a jump lead. I have actually replaced one of the earth cables from the engine to the chassis as it was showing bad corrosion.

Cheers Phil

Haydn Coolant Alarm False Alert

Hi all, some Haydn coolant alarm help please. 1996 diesel AFT 4WD. Van has one installed, was done by a previous owner, so don't know much about its install. Was working okay when I first got the van in September 2020, but the coolant was in very poor condition. Drained, flushed and refilled the coo...

Re: abs sensor

Hi all, just wondering if there were any other sources for this wheel sensor? I note they are out of stock now on the previous link shown (probably all of us buying them for our Bongos!) and I don't seem to be able to find the same one on eBay. Does anyone have the link to the one in eBay? Or any su...

Stop table sliding along rail

Hi all, I have tried searching but not finding what I'm after, please post a link if this has been discussed before. I have a side conversion which has the table rail fitted to it, it is between the rear and middle (reversed) seats. The issue I am having is the rail is 50% wider than the table, whic...

Re: Water pump change interval

Thanks for the reply. If the cambelt drives the water pump it is always best to change the pump when doing the cambelt for the exact reason you mention. You're half way (pending mileage) for your cambelt, might just be worth doing it if you are keeping the van. I think I'll do mine. Seems illogical ...

Water pump change interval

Hi all, apologies if this is somewhere but I can't find it. I have a 1996 2.5 diesel and I am wondering if the water pump is a service item (changed at intervals) or if that is not required? The van had a new water pump in 2015, when I assume the coolant was last changed too. It is now due coolant, ...

Anyone know this van?

Hi all, first post on here, so be gentle. Just bought this van and just wondering if anyone knows it? WhatsApp Image 2020-09-02 at 8.13.07 PM.jpeg It has clearly been well looked after in the past, but there is also a lot of wiring changes which have happened. I am hoping to update it a bit and add ...
